“Friendly Staff, Facilities Improvements Needed”

We stayed at this hotel with a large group of friends for a week while in San Salvador. The location was not bad; in a relatively safe part of San Salvador with plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance. It was far enough off the main road that there wasn't heavy traffic passing the hotel (though we were frequently subjected to the sound of a very loud bicycle horn in the mornings). The staff was very friendly and helpful, though anyone who doesn't speak Spanish should be aware that none of the staff we met spoke much, if any, English. The hotel seemed like it was being refinished while we were staying there, as many outlets and features were unfinished at the start of our trip and finished within a few days. I'm guessing they reinvested the money we paid into completing some of the needed repairs. The rooms were a nice size, though ours had no curtain in the bathroom, so anyone who happened to look up at the right time probably saw more than they'd bargained for. There are no in-room safes, but they do have a portable lockbox for rent if you want to store your pilferable items. The free wifi worked quite well. Among other things that improved over the week were getting hot water in the showers, organizing the laundry service, and serving meals and coffee. The first showers were quite cold, but the water temperature rose as the week went on until the last few days, where the water was nice and hot. The laundry service was a little disorganized, with clothes initially getting sent to the wrong rooms, but it was worked out by the end. This may have been more of an issue if people outside of our group had used the laundry service as well. The meals needed the most improvement: initial meals were served cold and the toast was served without any butter, jam, or other toppings and coffee refills were slow. The staff ultimately brought out an electric coffee urn so we could refill our own coffee, which was a big improvement. I think their kitchen was just too small to handle the quantity of food necessary to feed a large group. I'm sure the staff was just inexperienced with serving large groups and we provided them with the opportunity for some practice. If they continue to upgrade their facilities and improve their customer service, this will be a nice hotel.

“Friendly Staff but Loud Location”

The hotel is located in a safe area, but it can get quite loud at night since the rooms are not soundproofed. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend bringing ear plugs. In addition, the layout of the hotel is rather open, so it is possible to have rooms that open out into busy public areas… more

The hotel is located in a safe area, but it can get quite loud at night since the rooms are not soundproofed. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend bringing ear plugs. In addition, the layout of the hotel is rather open, so it is possible to have rooms that open out into busy public areas, and this can become a little bit loud. However, the staff is very friendly, and they try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
