My Stay at Best Western Pearl Addis My booking began with an honest and understandable mistake. On multiple booking platforms, the property is listed as “Best Western Plus Perl,” which can be misleading and confusing, as Best Western Plus and Best Western Pearl (Perl) are two separate hotels located very close to each other on the same street. After reviewing online comments, watching posted videos, and checking the surrounding area, I genuinely believed I had booked Best Western Plus. Upon arrival to check in, I realized that my reservation was actually for Best Western Pearl Addis, a nearby but different property. I then proceeded to the hotel, where ongoing road construction—part of the Addis corridor development—was actively taking place around the building. The steep steps leading to the hotel entrance and lobby were unexpected and initially challenging. At that point, I knew I had made a significant booking error; however, because my stay was prepaid for the full duration, I had no choice but to continue. The construction noise and surrounding conditions were not ideal, and my first impression—largely influenced by the misleading listing and my own misunderstanding—was disappointing. In addition, the hotel itself was undergoing repairs and maintenance. After I had already stayed for a week, renovations began on my floor without any advance notice. I later received a call from the reception desk informing me that I needed to move to a different floor. This was understandably frustrating, and I went to the reception desk to express my disappointment and concerns regarding the lack of prior communication. However, what followed completely changed my experience. Despite these challenges, my stay ultimately became genuinely enjoyable—and this was entirely due to the hotel’s exceptional staff. From the reception team and porters to the warm and welcoming breakfast hosts, the level of service was consistently excellent. Every interaction was handled with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. I would especially like to recognize Tsihon Admasu, whose professionalism truly stood out. Her calm approach, attention to detail, and commitment to going above and beyond for guests reflect the highest standards of hospitality. As someone with experience in the hospitality industry, I can confidently say that professionals like Tsihon are rare and invaluable. Hats off, Tsihon—you truly made my stay pleasant and memorable, despite the challenges. A. Haza
