The staff are superb, friendly and very helpful. The Concierge arranged to pick us up from our AirBNB on the morning of check in, where they had our lift passes ready. The next day I lost my phone, tracked it down to one of the off piste bars, the hotel got one of their drivers to take me back to the bar (and I recovered my phone). The hotel itself is in pretty much the best location possible in Meribel, a few short steps away from the main Chaudanne ski start area. The bar is cozy and friendly (they do an excellent Old Fashioned). Breakfast is served in the attached restaurant, and offered an extensive hot and cold buffet. My room was a ‘standard’ room, while it wasn’t the biggest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, it was well equipped, stocked with quality ‘Nuxe’ toiletries, and had a large balcony overlooking the main street. The mini bar was included in the price (though sadly lacking wine!). Also worth noting that ‘Le Kaila’ is ‘La Chaudanne’ attached sister (5*) hotel, I am sure Le Kaila has a bit more luxury and probably larger rooms, but it feels like a lot of it rubs off on La Chaudanne (certainly from a service perspective). In summary if you want a great hotel in the right location in Meribel, don’t hesitate to try La Chaudanne.

We spent our skiing week between Christmas and New Year with our two sons 15 and 19 at La Chaudanne. The hotel is very central and there is also a very good vibe in the hotel. The concierge Amber/Ambra is a truly passionate, hardworking, helpful and friendly person who really made a difference with our stay. She managed to book us all the restaurants (even last minute during the busiest week) and even though we changed our plans a 100 times she always welcomed us with a smile 😃 Thank you Amber x The breakfast was very good too. Very helpful waiters and waitresses. The spa was plus and their treatments are worth a try. The Nuxe products given during turn down were a special treat. Housekeeping was so and so. They did not always replace the missing products though when we called reception they always accommodated us. Our rooms were small. Expected bigger rooms however we had a lovely holiday. Thank you 🙏

Great location near main lifts and ski school. Breakfast was poor as they never refreshed the supply and it was often empty. No tables to be found. Room and decor were tired and in need of a refresh. Great location near main lifts and ski school. Breakfast was poor as they never refreshed the supply and it was often empty. No tables to be found. Room and decor were tired and in need of a refresh. Hotel was otherwise clean. Concierge (with mustache) was notably poor and exceedingly rude. We left the hotel early since it was not the vacation we had hoped for. Moved to neighboring hotel kaila which was extraordinary. Impossible to believe the stark differences between the sister hotels. One is definitely the pride and joy while Chaudanne is the ugly stepsister of the family.
