Bonsoir, just arrived home from a remarkable week spent at the Hotel l’Aigle du Montana with my best mate Dave The Map man McMillan. Cosy and very relaxed vibes. The chap on the reception was lovey and a pleasure to deal with and couldn’t do enough to answer any questions we had and always gave us a daily French lesson 🇫🇷. Rooms were a tad on the small size with no draws for socks etc but the view of the slopes and that blue sky from the balcony soon made up for that. Always had fresh towels, bed was made perfectly each day and shower was lovey and warm. No bar in the hotel itself but we just popped down supermarket to grab a crate. Kept our beers nice and cold by sticking them outside on the balcony. All you need really after a day on the slopes. Request room 31 because that was most definitely ski in ski out. Breakfast ticked all the boxes for us with a great selection on offer Greek yogurt, cereal, pastries, fruit, cakes. Eggs, Bacon, Sausage’s it had everything you could want. I’m very fussy and even I eat the bacon and sausages which I very rarely do outside of Bevs Kitchen 😋. Unlimited bread and rolls so you could fill yourself right up. Free pouring Nutella pump for the pancakes was tremendous. Sauna and swimming pool situated in the basement was a great treat after a full day on the slops. All towels, slippers and robes were provided. We were half board where you get the option to choose from 4 restaurants to eat in, all are within walking distance. Our favourite was the La Chaumieres, we indulged in the fondue 🫕 and tartiflette but the main reason was for the best Crème Brule I’ve ever consumed. The Italian La Place is defo worth a visit if you are in this half board option. They had the best staff and service out of the 4. The main Village hotel is literally 2 mins away, where you can relax in front of the log fire or have a game of pool before dinner. Just don’t ask Dave to order the drinks 😂 You get allocated your own locker in the boot room for your skis to go in at night. Make sure do the walk across the lake to Val Claret you won’t regret it, this takes about 25mins Granted this might be the Tottenham Hotspur of the Village Montana group Hotels but honestly we had an excellent stay and would return in a heartbeat. The champions league weather we had for the weeks ☀️ ☀️ ⛷️ skiing over 250 miles on the slopes, I mean I could have stayed in a tent and still had a great time. Would highly recommend and most definitely will be returning. AK & Dave
