Very functional hotel, exactly what you would expect from something like a Premier Inn or equivalent in the UK. Hotel is on the outskirts of Rennes, near a motorway and basically in a retail park. Not in a good area for restaurants (you need to walk for about 10 minutes to get to a shopping mall, which is where the closest restaurants are). The hotel's own restaurant is closed over weekends (but you still get breakfast). We found this very cheap and perfect for a functional stopover.

“Virtue of a questionable location”

I chose this hotel due to two reasons- Being almost the only hotel with available rooms 5 months prior to a big convention in Rennes which caused a seriour rooms occupancy and tripling the rooms costs and as being close to the belt road and Northern highway as being convenient to move to attractions around the city Rennes. The convention tripled the room cost and it was beyond my trip plan, otherwise it was much cheaper to accommodate in Rennes in more relaxed time. Therefore please ask in advance in order not to meet here a convention. Booking through Hotels.com was more expensive by 10% in comparison to direct booking. Hotels.com never responded to each of y messages to them to be refunded. Cost of Euro 160 per night excluding breakfast is enormously over-priced while regular cost in normal time was about one third of this cost. Therefore I marked the room cost as "Luxury" while no actual luxury was involved, on the contrary- quite poor and poorest accommodation along my 17 nights this time in Brittany. As about the other merit being nearby the external belt road, it was found as half correct. During rush hours of afternoon the Northern part of all the nearby roads are full of traffic trying to leave Rennes (at morning miles of blocked roads were seen for those entering Rennes), disturbing the access to and out the hotel. Visiting the city center is easy by a bus whose station line C2 is about 100 meters out of the hotel, but be aware of the timetable. It is Euro 1.5 per a ride per person and you do not need to worry about parking availability and cost. bus tickets are sold at the hotel reception. Now referring to the hotel itself. There are sufficient parking places and good WiFi connections. The bedroom is very small. The flat small TV was hanged due to lack of proper space for it. The bathroom is tiny. No refrigerator but you can ask to keep your food in hotels kitchen refrigerator. No kettle in the room but you can refill in the bar hot water in your thermos. No air conditioning and the radiator did not work. No ventilation in toilet. The room window was locked with no ability to open for a short ventilation- maybe for safety reasons. The room air was choking. Room 109. Breakfast is quite poor with no eggs- by cost of Euro 10.5 per person while cake and coffee in nearby shopping mall cost Euro 5 but it is less convenient. Rotten peaches were presented in the dining room for the guests. However dinner was good and reasonable. Only a few guests ate dinner around us.

“Good hotel”

Nice hotel. Easy to find great secured parking. Rooms are clean bright and comfortable. There is a great restaurant in the hotels with great food. The staff are very friendly. Great location. Would stay again.

“Outside of the city”

We were given this hotel after our originally booked Brit Hotel Le Castel was overbooked. This hotel located in the middle of nowhere. There are no shops or restaurants near hotel. No air conditioner in the room. You can't open window by yourself, you have to call receptionist and he will open it.… more

We were given this hotel after our originally booked Brit Hotel Le Castel was overbooked. This hotel located in the middle of nowhere. There are no shops or restaurants near hotel. No air conditioner in the room. You can't open window by yourself, you have to call receptionist and he will open it. We had room on the ground floor facing parking lot. It is no surprise why windows keep closed. If window is open anybody has an easy access to you room via window. Decor is outdated, not pleasant smell in the room. Probably this room was smoking room before and hotel didn't refurbish it to make a non-smoking room.
