“Really lovely but not incredibly festive for Christmas”

I spent Christmas here. It’s a lovely hotel with amazing two floored rooms, warm cosy and everything you could desire. Shower incredibly good too. It has a fantastic spa, steam room, sauna and jets. The breakfast was ok and the dinners on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, wonderful - very fine dining. But from my point of view as an English chap not that festive. And that’s the problem with the Hotel for Christmas - it’s not a very festive experience. The room we ate in had no festive touches, sparse decoration, which is odd as it was clearly a room meant for families with children. We had our 22 year old son with us and should have probably insisted that the other room with the Christmas lights and the Cabaret would be better. My expectations I think were the problem but maybe low key is normal for Alsace but bearing in mind the incredible effort they go to in Colmar it was, for me, a bit disappointing. I’d recommend the hotel, the spa and the food but for me - maybe not for Christmas.

“Helpful staff, spacious & clean rooms w balcony overlooking lovely area”

We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the spacious, clean modern room and bathroom & shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the spacious, clean modern room and bathroom & shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a lovely setting; a car is needed to access Eguisheim & other towns. Dinner at the hotel was fully booked but the hotel staff were extremely helpful in booking dinner at nearby restaurants each night. They even called to hold a reservation when we arrived late one eve! Breakfast at the hotel was delicious with a good variety of fresh breads, cheeses, meats, yogurts, eggs, juices, etc. Service at breakfast was good as well. There are 2 parking lots-very accessible & well-lit.

“Fair and clean hotel”

Room 5xx - A very clean and well kept hotel. There is no noise or disturbing from the other guests and the beds are good. Parking is ok and there is Tesla charging at the hotel. The Restaurant…. Well the menu card is missing a steak 😀 - but the food is quite alright though pricey. I tried to order… more

Room 5xx - A very clean and well kept hotel. There is no noise or disturbing from the other guests and the beds are good. Parking is ok and there is Tesla charging at the hotel. The Restaurant…. Well the menu card is missing a steak 😀 - but the food is quite alright though pricey. I tried to order a large beer butt the waitress didn’t understand enough English to understand. A senior manager came by and asked if I wanted my duck well done 🦆 and left again. Easy checkout but again no English knowledge of the employees to understand our questions. We will recommend the hotel to others.

The hotel is classified as a 4* hotel. Its location and facilities are definitely 4* but not its service delivery First the positives- location. Great views as located in the foothills about Eguisheim. Smart modern building with Spa Pool and Gym The rooms are spacey and modern with a separate toilet a la Accor Hotels. We had a room on the 4 th floor and hence had a balcony Breakfasts were excellent. No English breakfasts but lots of healthy choices inc 5 different fruit juices Second the negatives- there are 2 Car Parks, the one next to the hotel is too small and should not have 4 EV charge points- they could be in the overflow Park 80 meters uphill. In the room there is tea/ coffee facilities but only one tea and coffee per person - if you want another cuppa it costs 0.90e. This is a Ryanair move not that of a 4 * hotel. We had. 3 nights in the hotel and had a 3+ hr drive so we planned to dine in. Alas the Hotel could not provide us with food. I have stayed in many many hotels and have never been denied a meal. The Hotel is isolated and it’s a fair drive to a Restaurant We dined at the Hotel on our last night but had to wait 30 mins before a waitress approached us for drinks. But after that the food and service was excellent We fancied a night cap after the meal and ordered from the Bar. After 10 minutes the waitress informed us we would have to wait 5 minutes as there were no clean glasses. How can that happen? Then the same waitress took 2 bottles of wine plus 8 glasses outside. When she regrouped at the Car she talked to a colleague and 2 guests for a good 5 minutes so enough was enough. Really poor service. Would we return - probably not, unless they evolve into a proper 4* service
