“Nice stay in the heart of Strasbourg”

Staff was helpful and rooms were clean. Location was perfect, in the heart of Stasbourg. There was a comfortable sitting area in the lobby. We didn't eat at the hotel since there were so many restaurants nearby.

Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are lovely with everything you need for a short break with great views of the Cathedral. Would certainly recommend to anyone visiting Strasbourg for the first time. “Winter Wonderland”

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Snacks and vin chaud in the lobby. Fabulous location right in the middle of town and close to all the Christmas markets and the Strasbourg Notre Dame. Large, comfortable and quiet room.

Hotel Gutenberg is located a stone's throw away from the Cathedral in Strasbourg. This is the perfect area to stay in Strasbourg and is much more tourist friendly, than the hotels near the station. It felt a lot safer as well. Shops, bars and restaurants are plenty near the hotel and you will not have to walk far. If coming to Strasbourg by train, the hotel is a 15 minute brisk walk from the station. As with all city centre hotels, the hotel itself is small, but this is not problematic. Check in was smooth and the lady at reception was helpful. I had an "under the roof" room which was very unique - you had to take the lift to the 4th floor and walk up the stairs to the final floor. The room was a duplex, with the bathroom being on an upper level. The concept was great, but the execution had some issues. The room itself was cramped for a double room, with it being only slightly wider than the bed. The bathroom was incredibly dark as the lights were in odd locations. There was no light in the shower, so if you showered at night, it was in near complete darkness. The room itself was showing signs of wear and tear and I did notice that the bedding was rather discoloured (and slightly yellowish) under the pillowcases/covers. The room did have a flat screen tv, space to hand clothes and a nespresso machine, which was all great. The shower pressure was also excellent. The hotel has a breakfast room, which can double up as a bar. Breakfast itself was hearty and very nice. A good way to start the day! All in all, a unique hotel with an excellent location. For the price, I would have hoped for better room maintenance, but aside from this, a very good place to stay.
