My done chose this because of the accessibility rooms, the hotel has a very young vibe. The building is lovely and the beds are really comfortable.. there is a lively bar area where you can get cup of tea coffee drinks and purchase snacks and there’s an accessible entrance the room had a walk-in shower. However, that’s where it ends there was no real idea that people that need an accessible room who might have a chronic illness not just mobility issues would need warmer rooms would need a comfortable chair to sit in would really like a view and certainly need facilities to make hot drinks. A fridge to store medicine none of which was available here. This is a note to accessibility as there’s no extra bars to help one get off of the higher toilet and I don’t think anyone who is a wheelchair user has actually been used in planning the room. If it hadn’t been for the extremely nice hotel staff who brought me an extra duvet, I would’ve been frozen all night. I had to sleep in a thermal vest a thick night dress socks, and two duvets and I was still cold.! When getting a hotel through the Marriot chain one expects certain kinds of Marriot luxuries there was no sort put to that and I’ve had more basic necessities like a kettle and a radiator in a Travelodge then I have in this hotel. If you are under 40 and want somewhere just to sleep the beds are incredibly comfortable but if going away means for you that you have a little bit of luxury a bit of charm and a few necessities like warmth comfort a chair to sit on a place to do your make up That you can get to with your wheelchair a place to dry clothes that got wet a tea tray, fluffy slippers, a warm dressing gown which even basic bed and breakfast do in the UK this is not the place for you By the way, if you’re vegan, don’t ask at the bar for a coffee with soy milk although they have it in the kitchen for breakfast they’re not allowed to bring it to the bar for your coffee. I don’t get that. I don’t think it was lack of willingness in the staff because they were very lovely But I don’t think anyone was willing to think outside the box to go and get another heater and plug it in for me in the room to make sure that I have a kettle in the room so I could take my medicines with a warm drink I was told the bar is open all the time. You can get a coffee any time. I’m not going downstairs in my night dress to get a hot drink to bring it back to bed when I usually take my medicines and then go back to bed while they take affect I shouldn’t have to explain that. I’m not being picky because externally the hotel is beautiful but if you have needs that to be on the basic then do not come to this hotel. As a footnote because there was the room was so cold my trainers that have got wet the night before and New normally dry out overnight on a radiator was soaking wet the next day and I had to spend the next day out and about in soaking wet uncomfortable shoes And my trousers who also damn the edges of my coat did not dry off all of which dry off at home very easily and I don’t have very high central heating. Moxie, if you’re going to offer accessible rooms you need to think beyond with a wheelchair fit in here you need to think what does someone who needs an accessible room who might be have a chronic illness might have medicine needs what would they need? How can we think this through? Please don’t do just half the job.

I stayed here recently with family. The hotel is nice and modern, and the room was well equipped and spacious. Breakfast had a good selection too. The only tip I can give is to not park on the street directly outside. Our car was broken into there during the night. Not the hotel’s fault, of course… more

The only tip I can give is to not park on the street directly outside. Our car was broken into there during the night. Not the hotel’s fault, of course, but just beware if you’re visiting. Sadly that soured our stay.
