Best holiday ever!! Went with my daughter through Saga.. All staff were really friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. We had a superior twin room. The beds were really comfortable and spotlessly clean with extra little touches like towels made into elephant shapes and curtains drawn with lights on when you returned after dark Slept really well. Private patio where we watched monkeys, wilderbeast and many other animals. Being vegetarian I was initially a bit sceptical, but the food was amazing, so much choice and you definitely won't go hungry! The game drives and Bush walks were amazing. Our guide, Mash was excellent, very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. She went over and above to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see and the people in our group were all friendly and we got on well we all enjoyed the bush dinner. Overall I can't fault this holiday and would definitely recommend Mabula Game Lodge. Also this was my first Saga holiday, but won't be my last. I felt taken care of from start to finish.

We’ve just returned from a week‑long holiday at Mabula Game Lodge, and it was truly one of the best getaways we’ve ever had. The rooms were spotless, beautifully maintained, and checked twice a day. On our anniversary, we returned to find an adorable towel animal surrounded by fresh orchids — such a thoughtful surprise that genuinely made our day. More towel “friends” appeared throughout the week, each one adding a little extra joy to our stay. The food was excellent. While the selection wasn’t huge, every meal was delicious and satisfying — you certainly won’t go hungry. The game drives were the highlight of our trip. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the wildlife, from the big game to the birds, insects, and plants. If you can join Boitumelo’s group, do it. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience possible, and thanks to him, we absolutely did. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Their warmth and professionalism made the entire stay feel special. We can’t recommend Mabula Game Lodge highly enough — it’s a place that truly knows how to make a holiday unforgettable.

We booked Mabula for our honeymoon, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience… We had the most amazing guides - Frans was our safari guide and had a ridiculous amount of knowledge, we were always getting the best views and great photo opportunities, he knew how to track down the animals and we were so grateful for him. Lucky was such a cheeky chappy, always up for a chat and sharing his knowledge with us over an early morning tea. We saw so many beautiful animals - including hyenas, painted dogs, a hippo out of the water and lots of babies - and if it wasn’t for our guides we wouldn’t have had such good views and opportunities. The staff are all so friendly, they remember your names and welcome you every time you go to the restaurant. They remember your drinks orders, they’re always checking in to make sure you don’t need anything. They couldn’t do more for us! They all had a great sense of humour, and were so interested to know how your day had been and seeing pictures you’d taken on safari. For us, it was Thato and Julia especially - they were honestly amazing. We booked with Newmarket and we had such a fab group of people, they really made the whole trip such a good laugh! We had a superior room, which when we arrived was set up as a twin room, but after speaking to reception this was rectified that afternoon. The room was a good size, the only critique I have is the cleanliness. The room is not unclean, but for a luxury lodge I’d have expected a better level of cleanliness. The floors were too dirty to walk bare foot, the bathroom wasn’t overly waterproof which was evident from the state of the ceiling and the shower flooded - which wasn’t fixed even though we had raised this with reception, and quite a few others had the same issue too. We had a few days where our tea & coffee wasn’t refilled too, and some rooms had powder milk some had milk sachets - so switching all rooms to milk sachets would be better for guests in my opinion. Overall, it was the holiday of dreams! Cannot recommend Mabula more, already cant wait to go back again one day…

Excellant rangers very informative be prepated for early starts leaving at 6.30am and returning for breakfast. Afternoon safari then a sjort break before dinner. Excellant rangers very informative be prepated for early starts leaving at 6.30am and returning for breakfast. Afternoon safari then a sjort break before dinner. This is an active holiday but well worth the effort. Accomodation very good food food first class. Swimming pool tennis courts paddle court for thosr with excess energy all in all i would recommend to antbody interested in wildlife.
