What a treat! This was such a unique hotel. It was truly a spa and resort. Cedric, the front desk attendant was wonderful! He showed us all around the over 40 acres of property and all of the amenities this property had to offer. It was truly a place you could stay your entire time on your vacation and never leave. It offered just about anything you could want from a spa, a lap pool, a castle where each room offered a different game to play from chess to billiards, they even offered rubber boots to wear to hike through their property. They absolutely thought of everything! As a photographer there was never a shortage of things for me to photograph. Our beautiful room was next to a barn which housed goats, chickens and two beautiful horses. The morning sun rose just beyond the field where the horses were which made for beautiful images to add to my gallery. Our package included buffet breakfast. Aditia, the General mgr of restaurant was always nice and helpful and so was Ann Lo, the hard working hostess. It had a lovely offering of both hot and cold offerings and made eggs to order including eggs benefit. We had dinner at their restaurant all three nights we were there. The food was very good. The menu was limited but still good. If we stayed longer we would've taken advantage of the bikes they had to use as there were plenty of paths to take. This was an enchanting experience!

A sophisticated, bucolic hotel where attention to detail and friendly hospitality make one feel at home. The rooms are indeed different and spread around the property. We requested rooms with no steps and were accommodated. Excellent bed quality (though the pillows may need improvement) and spotlessly clean. The food was absolutely fantastic—from the sumptuous buffet to the lunches and dinners at the Auberge and up to the pinnacle of the Michelin rated Favori we cannot but rave about it all. The personnel was uniformly kind and attentive. The entire place felt peaceful and the myriad small details (from boardgames and galoshes in the castle) greatly contributed to the feeling of a luxurious vacation. We would return here in a heartbeat. A small note for older travelers: the showers felt a bit slippery and the gorgeous tubs may require extra care to get in and out without assistance. My elderly mom asked me to assist her and I am glad she did. A proper seat in the shower (rather than a rickety stool) would not have gone amiss and a handle to hold on to would have been appreciated.

The property itself was lovely and the room was modern, clean, and comfortable. On the surface, this is a beautiful hotel. However, many things about this property didn’t work for us. It is located very much in the country. The only restaurants nearby are the ones on property. Yes, you could ride a bike into town…. But we were there on a Sunday night, Monday, Tuesday morning. NOTHING was open! The town of Cheverny looked like a ghost town. Plus it rained the whole time we were there, so we had to drive. The only option for breakfast was a buffet for €30 per person! The pastries were not as fresh as in any Boulangerie. I did not care for their style of eggs. Even the lattes were weird. Thus, we did not try the same restaurant for dinner. (The Michelin restaurant was closed). They had a fitness room - but the equipment was old (and kind of weird) and did not really facilitate a modern workout. It’s almost like they put everything in there for show - not expecting anyone to use it. They had a lovely “game” room. The foosball table was so old, it didn’t work. The billiards table only had 3 balls (maybe it was a different game?). The “stereo” had several records you could play, but there was no receiver, so you couldn’t hear anything. Since it was raining, we were really limited to indoor activities. Yes, we could have gone to the spa, but that was very expensive also, and it isn’t really our thing. You can’t really plan the weather for your trip, but you can schedule your days. I would not come here on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Maybe it would be nicer later in the week, with clear skies. But for us, it didn’t really work.
