A beautiful, indeed magnificent Château. Most welcoming, with super helpful and friendly staff. A truly magnificent room with splendid views. The evening meal was gourmet and the breakfast made lunch impossible. Much of the original castle has been incorporated, adding to its charm. We certainly intend to stay again on our return in a few weeks.

“CHARMING”

Stayed for three nights late August. Great welcome from the personnel, who were warm and friendly. We changed rooms as the first one was too small (on the second floor). Next room, on the third floor, much nicer and spacious. All the rooms are decorated differently and are charming, bathrooms and products very stylish. The pool and gym were open but it was raining while we were there so didn't use them although they look very nice.. Lovely garden to stroll around and very pretty rose garden. There is a lovey bar/drawing room area on the first floor. Just two bad points: the bedrooms are equipped with the dreaded thick polyester duvet and there is no central air-conditioning so hot and uncomfortable in summer. There was a portable aircon unit but it was very noisy. Lighter bed covers would be great! Other thing was the restaurant: I saw very nice photos on other comments from 2018 but the chef must have changed as we found the food was just about adequate and we only had dinner once. Breakfast was ok, but no fruit salad and the dining room itself, being modern and boxy, is not in keeping with the rest of the chateau.

We spent two nights at this chateau in October, and although we were aware that October is not high season, we were a bit disappointed at the low occupancy, which made the hotel seem rather deserted. On the first night there were two other couples staying, but for the second night our suspicion was confirmed by the staff, who said that we were indeed the only occupants, which made dinner and breakfast the next morning - as the only guests in the dining room - a somewhat lonely affair, and the night a bit scary for my wife, as it was all so eerily quiet. We assume that the lack of guests was also the reason why the bar was closed during our stay. Considering that the chateau is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, that was quite disappointing, as we had thought we could have a night cap in the atmospheric bar before turning in for the night. Quite frankly, if I stay in a 4-star establishment and pay a handsome price for it, then I would expect the bar to be open, regardless of whether I'm the only guest. On the positive side, the service was excellent and very friendly, our room had all the charm one would expect from a chateau, and the meals were exquisite. But since my wife felt a bit spooked about the desertedness of the hotel, our stay, although comfortable, was not exactly what we had envisioned. It is hoped that more people will find this beautiful chateau to spend a special night or two, as it certainly makes for a special experience.

I have mixed thoughts about this chateau. Good points. Beautifully restored to a high standard. Rooms decorated in true chateau style. Nice big modern bathrooms with complimentary smellies Safe in room Lovely gardens Lift for easy access. Swimming pool open in season. lovely friendly staff very engaging. Less good bits No tea and coffee facilities in rooms But there is a paying mini bar. Though a little expensive. Restaurant food ok. Menu very limited. Nothing special. Restaurant drinks a bit expensive. The chateau is far out so you have to travel quite far. Nearest restaurants 15 mins drive away.not much of a choice in local town 15 minutes away. Bar in hotel on 1st floor only open when busy. This chateau lacks a soul somehow it has the potential of being a fabulous place. Lack of facilities, communual room near the restaurant with open bar for a little socialising would probably bring this place to life.
