“Good location for train travellers”

The hotel is close to the train station yet quiet, especially the rooms to the backside. The interior is renovated and the matress and bedding are excellent, also the room was spotlessly clean. The staff was helpful, I also liked the breakfast offering and facilities located on the ground floor with lots of natural light. I did not try the spa, be aware that it is not complimentary. The rooms are on the smaller side and there is not much storage space for luggage and personal items though.

“Decent hotel - but beware of extra costs of spa area”

We spent our last night in France here in Limoges. This hotel is right by the train station, about 3 minutes walk away so well located. Walking into the town takes only about 10 minutes. Our room was the most spacious we had in the week we spent in France and very nicely decorated. Bathroom was also good. We were hoping for a fridge but there wasn't one, but that has been true of all the hotels we stayed in - so maybe a French thing? Our only gripe was that we chose the hotel in part because it had an indoor swimming pool as part of the spa, but when we went to use it we were told it was 15 euros a head, which given that you are a guest you'd expect free or at the least discounted. On the day we arrived we were told the steam room wasn't working, so the gentleman on reception said he would discount it for us. The next day we wanted to use it and so asked about the discount, but were told that it was now working - she essentialy ripped the sign off the door and said it was now ok. Anyway the pool is tiny, but refreshing and we used the sauna, but the steam room wasn't getting hot at all. Whether that was because they hadn't swtiched it on early enough, I don't know. But given that the 15 euros was for a small pool, a steam room and a sauna the fact one of the 3 wasn't working adequately should have attracted a discount. By the way the 15 euros is for 1 hour only. We told the lady on reception, but she kept repeating it was fine - when it clearly wasn't. They also weren't very flexible - we arrived shortly before check in time, but room wasn't ready - and then when we were leaving as we'd used the spa at 10am and check out was 11am - we'd said we might be a touch late as we need a shower etc when we get out and was told in no uncertain terms that we had to be out by 11am, so ended up cutting spa time short.
