This is the luxurious annex of Au Grand Hotel de Sarlat, entered from the same courtyard as the hotel. Our very large room also had an outdoor patio on which to luxuriate. There's a pool and a covered garage. Nice amenities! The breakfast selection was large and delicious. We were a one-block walk from a great local restaurant, Bistro L'Octroi.

“Lovely peaceful stay”

We stayed for four nights here from 26th August with our 6 year old. We were located in the older part of the hotel in the Milandes room on the third floor and within the beamed loft area, which was charming and had lots of character. The main bedroom with king size bed was spacious and was located up a few steps from the lounge area which accommodated a single/ sofa chair bed. The bathroom and toilet are separate and well equipped with lovely robes towels and toiletries. Spacious double wardrobe and fridge located at entrance to room. We were very happy with our room and we found it to be very peaceful day and night. The air con needed a little big of playing with but eventually we managed to get our room just to a lovely cool temp. We really enjoyed this hotel as a base, we had breakfast in the town each morning which is only 5 mins away and we only returned to use facilities in late afternoons. The pool area at this time was always quiet and was lovely to cool off at end of hot day exploring locality. We were recommended a few restaurants but spoiled ourselves and ate on three of our four night stay at the Jardin D'Harmonie located in the medieval part of town. We found check in and out very simple and contrary to reports here our receptionist followed me to the car and insisted on helping with our luggage. We used their private car park located approx 100m away, (approx 12€ per day) and more than happy with this. it is secure, (accessed with room key) and close enough so can't complain. We were very happy with the staff and service here, as with all people we came across in restaurants and shops, they're friendly but in a quiet way.. so there if needed but not in your face or hanging around waiting to jump on you.. This is a small hotel, located in a medieval town in a built up location. The fact that it has a pool and hot tub is a huge bonus given its location and I think some of the expectations of guests, (reading other reviews) are slightly unfair and unrealistic. Admittedly this is not a 5 star on a par with what you might expect in a large modern city but it has very nice touches all the same that I would definitely say are over and above what you often see in 4 star hotels.. our room was cleaned and tidied every day whilst we were out and then each evening there was a turn down service and our sons sofa bed would be made up with chocolates left on the bed.. fresh towels and toiletries were also put out and tea bags etc topped up. Each morning whilst out, the sofa bed would be put away again. These details are often left out in modern 4 star hotels, in fact we have never had a sofa bed being made up daily..they're often left out and occupy a lot of room space. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay as we had everything we needed and we were left in peace to enjoy it. We would return.
