“A suite hotel in a good location”

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a 2 week holiday, travelling through Puglia, intending to arrive in Paris and depart by train. Which is why we chose this location. We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a 2 week holiday, travelling through Puglia, intending to arrive in Paris and depart by train. Which is why we chose this location. The train was cancelled and we had to fly instead. Not sure whether we would have chosen this place otherwise. I liked that it was a little home from home, complete with iron/ironing board, everything you needed in the kitchen to cook a meal, and enough storage space. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. We liked that good coffee was included all the time. The location is excellent, in between several metro stations/lines. A 10 minute walk to Bastille, and the canal area behind it, and a 20 minute walk to the Seine. Very many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. An excellent market at 2 mins walk on a Sunday.The area is safe and middle class. We didn't like that the aircon was below standard, during very hot weather at night. Nor that the television provision was rather rubbish - not very accommodating for international travellers. The place feels a bit tired, not sure how old it is. The bathroom needed upgrading, the shower was poop. And our room was the smallest, judging by the floorplan. Not much space to move about or sit comfortably, or eat any meal that you might have prepared, in comfort. We did not opt for breakfast option but looking at the buffet it did seem worth the €15 pp.

We have stayed at Citadines Bastille Marais several years ago and had fond memories. The area is great and staff are pleasant enough, but the rooms are so tired. The towels were so thin and the hair dryer was a relic and didn’t work properly. We paid more for a room with a balcony, which sadly overlooked other apartments. Time to look elsewhere for next trip.

“Apartment hotel near Bastille ”

I have stayed at this hotel before in a 1 bedroom apartment, and was looking forward to a visit again, however I soon realised the hotel standards had dropped over the last few years. The staff were friendly and helpful but seemed overworked. Be warned, no room service unless you stay more than 6 days. The hotel laundry worked on an app which did not work until after we left. We stayed in a Deluxe Studio apartment facing the road so it had great views but the configuration of the room was odd - impossible to get into bed on one side because there wasn't enough room, plus no bedside table on that side. A TV mounted on the wall which faced only a mirror (impossible to watch). A not so clean kitchen with kickboards that were falling apart. On the plus side, location was excellent, close to the Bastille and the Marais with 2 metros close by. Also close to the area of Rue de la Roquette, a humming place filled with cafes, bars and restaurants.
