“Stop over”
Having only just found the chain of B&B hotels have found them to all be extremely good value for money. Le Tholonet is clean tidy, with tv and wifi. “Clean, simple, good”
Check only from 17.00 till 21.00 and an early morning. It must be a little bit inconvenient. But! Rooms were clean, good wifi connection, good administrator. Breakfast includes: croissants, coffee, tea, eggs, bacon, yogurt, juice and etc. For France it was untypical :). Recommend this hotel.

“Nice place to spend the night and leave in the morning.”
Aix-en-Provence seems to be a convenient night stop whenever I'm traveling on long trips. Downside: Rooms are small, no 24 hour desk and the only food is (expensive) snacks from a machine. “Minumalist, but OK”
If all you want is a clean bed and bath at minimum cost, the B&B hotels give you that. This hotel is a bit remote from the centre of Aix. Breakfast is basic, but ok. No human was present to greet us.
