“Wonderful!”

This hotel was a great find in Avignon. Close to the train station and a short easy walk to the Palace of the Popes and many shops/restaurants. The rooms were large (especially the family room!). The decor was fun and updated, and the staff were very helpful.

This was a large, clean room in a convenient location. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station and also a reasonable walk to the Palace of the Popes. This was a large, clean room in a convenient location. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station and also a reasonable walk to the Palace of the Popes. Younger patrons might wish the part of Avignon that has a more active night life, but is further from the train station. The lighting in our room was inadequate for reading and the bathroom lighting was a problem as well. The shower pressure and temperature were above average for our stays in France. Ask for a room away from the main street if you do not wish to be awakened by the city street cleaning machines at 6:30 am.

we got upgraded to a suite which was just an extra large room due to our best western membership. the checkin was easy and the staff were very nice. our room was large but the lighting was too dim. the decor was very well done- modern and tasteful. the bathroom had a deep soaking tub but the glass divider was not sealed where it meets the tub so it leaked with each use. the separate water closet was much appreciated. breakfast was excellent but mainly continental with a bit of scrambled eggs and bacon. the location is convenient as it is a few blocks from the downtown train station (need to take a shuttle from the tgv station) and just off the main drag of the city. note that there is a pub in front of the hotel with noisy patrons into the wee hours of the night so request a backside room for a quiet experience.

“Second somewhat disappointing visit especially noise levels.”

The biggest problem is the level of street cleaning noise at around 4:30am at the front of the hotel. It lasted approaching 1 hour 3 nights running, more the first day as there was garbage collection. Also the breakfast was a little tired a couple of days. The biggest problem is the level of street cleaning noise at around 4:30am at the front of the hotel. It lasted approaching 1 hour 3 nights running, more the first day as there was garbage collection. Also the breakfast was a little tired a couple of days. Quite sad eggs and bacon, drying out cheese and ham. Someone refreshed it eventually around 10am but too late for us. Room lighting remains a bit dim especially when it's winter grey outside Service and room cleaning was very good.
