We have stayed in other hotels in l’Isle sur la Sorgue but would now choose to return here. Very good price/value. We stayed in La Vigneronne, which faces the courtyard and has a large bathroom. Very comfy bed and crisp linens. Breakfast was very good and our server very welcoming. You can walk to all restaurants, antique shops, etc. in 5 minutes or so.

“Beautiful setting off a quiet street ”

Very nice dinner although my main course portion was tiny - about 3 mouthfuls! But appetiser and amouse bouche to pad out the courses. Lovely friendly service in a beautiful courtyard. Quite an expensive dinner with only one set menu choice

We arranged our trip through a third party sadly with quite variable accommodation. We stayed at La Prevote twice in our travels, the first in an attic room that was fine accept the sink was in a dark spot thus precluding shaving or make up and you couldn’t easily stand in the bathroom. Fortunately, the second was much more acceptable - a pleasant room with more comfort and a bathroom that worked well. It is an nice little family run hotel in the centre of town with its own courtyard and stream; and one had a feeling that they cared about your experience. All the family and their staff were friendly, helpful and spoke some English - especially the owners - better than our French. What really stood out, however, was their restaurant. Dinner on our arrival night was a greatest surprise and well worth getting washed and changed for. The menu offered interesting choices, including a degustation, with impressive execution of both the food preparation and its presentation. This must presumably be attributed to the owner-chef who appears to know what he is doing. La Prevote has been one of the two best meals we have eaten in Provence to date (we are still travelling). Service is gentle, informal but attentive. Breakfast was also another unexpected surprise. This provided residents with a wide choice of fresh and warm breads, croissants (including pan du chocolat), jams and local honey, cold meats, eggs, cereals and yoghurts. These were all of the highest quality. Service exemplary. A wonderful experience overall. FYI they also do lunches but they do not cook on Tuesday’s or Wednesdays which is not surprising considering the obvious daily workload of the chef. A great little find. I would certainly return there for a week if I had the opportunity and L’Isle sur la Sorgue is a good place from which to explore the Luberon.

The building itself is stunning — carefully and lovingly restored — and the location couldn't be better for the vintage markets. We adore old architecture and genuinely admired the owners' dedication to the restoration. Our concerns are entirely with the service. Arrival: We received no advance communication from the hotel about nearby street closures affecting vehicle access. A simple email with a pin or suggested taxi drop-off point would have made a world of difference. Instead, we found ourselves rolling heavy suitcases a considerable distance. If you're planning to stay here, sort out your exact drop-off point in advance — don't assume a taxi or Uber can reach the entrance. Check-in hours: When the hotel says reception is only open during certain hours, they mean it literally. We arrived slightly early and were fortunately able to leave our bags with someone working in the kitchen — but had that not been the case, we would have been stranded with our luggage in a small town for an hour. Plan accordingly. Breakfast: The continental breakfast was fine, but we'd temper expectations — we found it modest rather than the "hearty" description we'd seen in a previous review. We skipped dinner entirely, as the menu offered little for guests with food allergies. Checkout: This is where our stay unraveled. The staff member at checkout, Miriam, mentioned she had only been there one week — and unfortunately it showed. She was unable to provide a local taxi number and made no effort to find one, despite it being a simple search away. Beyond that, working at a hotel where street closures routinely complicate vehicle access, one would expect any staff member to intuitively know the closest and most practical drop-off and pick-up point for taxis and Ubers — this seems like day-one knowledge for anyone in a guest-facing role. She could not provide this either, nor did she attempt to find out. We were 20 minutes past checkout due to a delayed breakfast down the street, and had accumulated quite a few market purchases. We asked if anyone could help us with our bags given the distance we'd need to travel to reach a taxi. Miriam's response was a flat "no" — explicitly because we were late checking out. She offered no alternatives, no help finding a solution, and no goodwill gesture of any kind. Neither she nor the staff member vacuuming nearby made any move to assist. For a boutique hotel with only around six rooms, we expected guest service to be a genuine priority. With so few guests at any one time, there is simply no excuse for this level of indifference. Unfortunately, it left a lasting and disappointing final impression on what could have been a lovely stay.
