“Good value for money ”

Though the room is a bit small, it’s functional and clean. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the metro M2 and the bus station, making it easy to get around using public transports. Friendly staff. Good value for money.

This Ibis is conveniently located at the Perier subway exit. Just a short walk to shops, restaurants & bars. We were a party of 11 people and the reception staff was truly helpful with our luggage when we arrived way too early for check in. Thanks to her, we were able to visit Marseille without our luggage before returning to the hotel for check in in the evening. Throughout our 2-day stay, the overall staff was welcoming and warm. Like any other standard Ibis rooms, rooms aren't large but simply adequate, nicely clean & presented. The heater worked just fine & hassle-free. It is conveniently locate to the stadium of Marseille, the Orange Velodrome.

The hotel is located in the upscale Prado district of Marseille in a quiet side street off the main street. The Perier metro station is just two minutes walk at the end of the street. From which you can reach all the main tourist sites in 10-20 minutes dependent on the location. Saint Charles Train Station is three stops away on metro line 2. Next to the Perier metro station is a bus stand from which you can take the number 19 bus to all the five Marseille beaches or the lovely Parc Borely (a sort of civilised Hyde Park-it has motor cycle guards to keep out the low-life!), if you want shade. A 24 hour transport ticket for all forms of transport (bus, metro and tram) cost just 5 Euros. The hotel is an older-style hotel (I am guessing 1970s), so I had a massive double room with all the usual Ibis facilities. My room was at the back and had a large window I could open that overlooked a nice wooded area and swimming pool for a neighbouring apartment complex. The room air-conditioning was totally ineffective. To the effect, it was difficult to ascertain whether it was on or off. This was fine for September, but I understand the weather was above 40 degrees (Is that 90 in American?) in July and August. Moreover, as typical of France, the hotel lacked staff, and my room was not "cleaned" until 3-4 pm, was is inconvenient if you want to return to your room for a rest. The cleaning amounted to making the bed and changing the towels. The same crumbs on the carpet from my first day remained for the three day stay and I had to clean the sink myself each day. I bought my room on line for a bargain rate, so this wasn't too much hassle. However, the daily rate displayed on the hotel front entrance was three times more than I paid booking on-line. So, it would be annoying if you had paid the full price
