Benvengudo Hotel - Provence We spent four wonderful nights at Benvengudo and truly enjoyed every moment. The hotel is ideally located just a 5-minute drive from the beautiful village of Les Baux-de-Provence, making it a perfect base for exploring the region. The property itself is a gorgeous French villa surrounded by lush trees and beautifully maintained gardens. The main house features a cozy sitting area with a fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, along with an excellent restaurant where we enjoyed a fantastic dinner one evening in one of their cozy country French dinning rooms. Breakfast each morning was served in a separate dining area, overlooking the pool and opened terrace, offering a varied buffet along with eggs cooked to order—an ideal way to start the day. The hotel also features a large and inviting pool-area with plenty of lounge chairs and relaxing seating areas throughout the grounds. Our room was spacious, seemed recently renovated with all modern amenities, like updated and spacious bathroom, as well as the bedding, sheets and pillows, that are exceptionally comfortable. We chose a ground-floor room with a private terrace, complete with chairs and lounge seating. One afternoon, we picked up wine, cheese, and other local specialties from the market in Saint-Rémy and enjoyed a relaxed gathering on our terrace with our traveling friends. The hotel staff kindly provided wine glasses and utensils, making the experience even more enjoyable as we tried to enjoy the splendors of French living while vacationing. Service throughout our stay was outstanding. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was gracious, welcoming, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience. Benvengudo is a well deserved 4 star hotel, a phenomenal place to stay in Provence—perfectly situated, beautifully maintained, and offering exceptional comfort and service.

“October visit”

Lovely hotel with nice staff. It is easy to drive to many towns nearby. It’s actually a newer building but looks old but no issues if you’re allergic to older places.

“Be careful ordering breakfast!”

This hotel has a charging policy for breakfast which will strike many, if not most foreigners as weird. They have a differential charge, depending on what you eat. We were not informed of this (or of much else, for that matter) on arrival and found out when our group of 24 came to pay their bills. … more

This hotel has a charging policy for breakfast which will strike many, if not most foreigners as weird. They have a differential charge, depending on what you eat. We were not informed of this (or of much else, for that matter) on arrival and found out when our group of 24 came to pay their bills. Because breakfast is charged retrospectively based on the nature and quantity of food consumed (we were NOT made aware of this and there was nothing on the tables to inform you in writing), the hotel simply cannot prepare anyone’s bill in advance as it all depends what they ate for breakfast on the day of departure. A cup of coffee and a croissant - “express” breakfast - and €10. Add a piece of bread and the price rockets to €28. Only the French could dream up such an unnecessarily complex system. The knock-on effects were disastrous as a lot of angry guests tried to check out simultaneously. The whole process was held up because the bills could not be prepared in advance. They took a group booking, but maybe they shouldn’t have. It would all have been so much easier if they had a simple flat rate charge for breakfast. But I suppose every euro counts in the battle against the customer. The staff were overwhelmed, several told us their systems were cuckoo and the customer, of course, is always wrong. Welcome to France.
