This is an excellent resort. Everyone was incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. We were relaxed throughout our stay as all aspects of transportation, excursions, dinner reservations, etc. were handled seamlessly and in a low stress manner. We'd like to shout out the following individuals: -Uta, a really great bellhop, thank you for being so friendly, funny and attentive. -Felix from maintenance, thank you so much for your help! -Denise, Jennifer and Poevainea from reception, you always had the answers to our questions. -Mateatea and Cinzia from breakfast at Tere Nui, we felt so welcomed and well taken care of every single morning. -Idris from Vaimiti, so glad we got to see you twice, you did a great job both times. Truly a visit to "paradise". It has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth and we have traveled to many countries and exotic resorts. Truly a visit to "paradise". It has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth and we have traveled to many countries and exotic resorts. The various colors of the water is the lagoon is nothing shy of amazing. We have been there three (3) times and it just gets more beautiful. The overwater bungalows with pool are very spacious, comfortable, and private. The resort offers a great variety of restaurants and activities of all kinds. Every member of the staff (office, housekeeping, restaurant, etc.) are gracious and so very pleasant. They all seem to enjoy their jobs but maybe that's because they live and work in paradise. The service level at the Four Seasons Bora Bora is impeccable - truly 1st class!

“Good but not great”

It's hard to assign a rating... the location and view are amazing... but that's not really the hotel. Rooms are beautiful: The hotel rooms are very nice. The bungalow views are incredible, the rooms are a good size, the beds are comfortable, and the deck is great to relax on and eat a meal. Amenities are standard for the level: The amenities that you get are what you'd expect, but nothing special or surprising. You can get a complimentary hour of paddle boarding, there are yoga classes, there is a beautiful lagoon to snorkel at, and you can rent a jet ski. Food is disappointing: After 3 days, we had tried all the restaurants on property. It was all very mediocre. They have standard fare of pan Asia, Mediterranean, and beach grill. All of the food was fine... nothing was great. The ingredients weren't as fresh as you would find in Europe, and the dishes were standard with no creativity. This is definitely the low spot for us. You're basically trapped: Given our disappointment with t the food, we wanted to try other resorts. It looks like the food at the St. Regis is much better, and it is literally the property next door to us. However, to eat there you need to go on a wait list a couple days in advance... which is annoying. Plus, you have to take a water taxi for $200 to go to the resort Nextdoor... I'm sure there is a golf cart path, but it is not available. It's also pretty small. There are no bicycles to ride, and only a small loop to walk around. This added to the trapped feeling. Staff is friendly: The staff is friendly and nice. There are no complaints here, but again nothing out of the ordinary for the price point. Verdict is overrated: There is a lot of buzz and desire around Bora Bora and this resort being the best. If I were to return to Bora Bora, I would stay at the St. Regis for the hope of better food. That's said, given the room alone cost of $17K for 5 nights, I think there are more exciting places with better value that we will try in the future instead of Bora Bora.

Four Seasons Bora Bora was hit and miss for us. The grounds are incredible, and the resort activities were fun; we did the lagoon snorkeling tour and crown making class. Also, while the staff was very responsive and accommodating, they're wasnt great commmications among themselves. We were told our room would have a microwave, it did not when we arrived. Ordered take out food from the pool bar by phone, and there was no record of it when picking up. Other issues we had: Incomplete cleaning of the room on some days, dining staff taking plates and utencils away without asking or replacing, running out of beach towels, mysterious room charges, among other problems that me and my wife did not expect from a 5 star hotel. The best part of our stay was our babysitter, Maja, who did an amazing job with our 18 month old daughter. Our daughter is normally shy with strangers, but she loved Maja.
