Of all the hotels we stayed at in Georgia, this one had the friendliest staff—always smiling, very hospitable, and ready to help. We had some room issues on the first day, but they quickly resolved them and moved us to a better room the very next morning. The restaurant served good food, and the chef personally asked about our preferences. The hotel is within walking distance of the major attractions and the marketplace. The approach road is narrow, and traffic congestion may be a problem.

“A very nice and well-located hotel in the third largest Georgian city”

A small hotel with some 30+ rooms, Newport Kutaisi is just a block away from city center, Kolchis Fountain. A small hotel with some 30+ rooms, Newport Kutaisi is just a block away from city center, Kolchis Fountain. The lobby is long but narrow, with three seating areas for guests, and the reception area is at the end, just before the lifts. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is on the small side, with ordinary dark blue tile carpets, and the windows are only from waist high to ceiling. But it’s efficiently laid out. The work desk, which also doubles as the coffee counter top is across the bed and is basic in structure, with the small ref tucked underneath. A wardrobe cabinet with not enough hangers stand past the door. The headboard wall has a cute wallpaper pattern, while the headboard is cloth-covered. The bed has nice brass wall lamps and there is a very small marble top table on both sides of the bed that doubles as the night stand. A relatively small TV is above the work desk, and no English language programs. There are enough outlets for people with several gadgets. The T&B is acceptable, with a large shower area that offers both shower and rain forest heads. The mirror is also touch screen that allows you to toggle the frame lights off and on. There’s a handwash dispenser in the sink and a hair-body wash dispenser in the shower, both Travel Care-branded. Breakfast is in Café Newport, a small but elegant eating place that’s also open to outsiders. They open a bit late, at 8 am. Food variety is modest but decent, with hot food that includes sausages, scrambled eggs, and stir-fried veggies. Plus two kinds of juices, raw veggies, bread with toaster, and coffee machines. Newport is a very nice hotel in the third largest Georgian city!

“Cute hotel in a convenient location”

My friend and I stayed here for a one night.The location is very close to the majestic fountain and in the heart of the city ,in front of the police station,close to the landmarks.The hotel building has a lovely shade of powder blue.Even our Georgian driver remarked lovely choice of hotel in Kutais… more

My friend and I stayed here for a one night.The location is very close to the majestic fountain and in the heart of the city ,in front of the police station,close to the landmarks.The hotel building has a lovely shade of powder blue.Even our Georgian driver remarked lovely choice of hotel in Kutaisi. Although the check in time was 3 pm our room was ready when we reached there around 1.30 pm ready.The room was small but the space was used in such a way that it was not uncomfortable for two persons. The front desk staff was friendly .The bathroom was clean although the jet spray was broken which we realised the next morning since we left for our excursions to Prometheus cave and Martivili canyon after checking in and gor back late night after having dinner at a lovely restaurant close to the hotel.It is now a lesson to check the jet spray also at the time of checking in to a room for future.The rooms are not sound proof though and we could hear the dogs barking outside.The we noticed ear plugs by the bedside table but since we were exhausted ,we fell asleep immediately.The breakfast was good.All in all a pleasant one night stay .

“Breakfast experience was BAD!”

Hotel is well located in the city centre. My main complaint is breakfast: the restaurant is small and there were not enough tables for guests. Food-wise, options were very limited and we had to pay extra for the espresso! (Isn’t this a 4-star hotel?)
