We stayed in the Badhotel section so we could get easy access to the thermal baths next door. We arrived late and had to self-checkin, but they gave us all the information we needed so it was no trouble. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is of a high standard. Early access to the thermal baths in the morning was wonderful. But the best part of this hotel was the staff, even short-handed over the Easter break the people in the hotel team were excellent.

Very nice resort style hotel in the center of town. Everything is very walkable, restaurants, shops, bank. Connected to spa if you stay in Bad Hotel side. We had a small suite facing square with nice view. Rooms are large with good size bath. It's a bit of a maze once you arrive but you'll get used to layout quickly. Many corridors so don't expect a holiday Inn express. The spa usage is unlimited so we used multiple times a day. It is clothing free so note that. Most are naked in spa area...water and saunas are awesome. Goes late until 10pm. Staff at hotel are excellent, breakfast is a must. Recommend.

Very nice small hotel with friendly and helpful service. Big room with good bed and nice bathroom with bathtub. Cozy breakfast restaurant - with garden tables (summer) - with very good food and drink (coffee, many teas, juices, smoothie, ginger shot and prosecco). There is no dinner restaurant, but restaurants and cafes are only a few metres away. Across the pedestrian square there is a great spa - a big semi-modern, a modern and a historic one - which is a must-visit. Lots of saunas, warm baths, cold tubs, Finnish cold room and small pool with pool bar. Super. In this Palais Thermal there is also an okay fitness room with cardio- and weight-machines. A few metres down the road there is the Summer Bergbahn, which takes you to the wonderful Schwarzwald treetop walk and tower. A 20-minute walk will take you to a new suspension Bridge, Wildline. It is a five star experience - I will gladly stay again - but just four listed, as spa and fitnesscentre is across the street, there is no dinner restaurant and bar in hotel and the fitnesscentre, though okay, is without free weights and advanced machines.

The Mokni's Palais Hotel & Spa is a complex of several buildings: the Rossini, the main building where the reception is located; the Badhotel, where most of the rooms are located; and the Palais Thermal, which is a bath, sauna, and swimming pool complex where you can get all your treatments. We stayed in the Badhotel, which is a huge building with a lobby interior from the 70s. The overall design of the hotel is a bit eclectic and feels outdated in some places; a redesign and renovation wouldn't be a bad idea. For almost our entire stay, the lobby was completely empty, which gave me the creeps and chills. At least it is quiet there! The Badhotel is a separate building divided from the Rossini by a public square. This is not ideal, as you do not feel separated from the outside world. However, the Badhotel is directly connected to the Palais Thermal, which is a plus. You can reach the hotel very easily by car and park temporarily in the public square near the Rossini building, which is very convenient. The hotel has a garage where you can park for €8.50 per night, but it is 100m away from the main buildings, needs to be booked in advance, is wet inside like a wine cellar, and requires yet another separate key card to enter. The hotel is located right in the middle of Bad Wildbad, making all local sightseeing easily accessible. After booking, you receive way too many instructions on how to handle your stay, and after check-in, you receive another batch of rules for the hotel, spa, and your overall stay, which is a bit annoying. You also receive a room card, a bracelet for the Palais Thermal, and various other booklets and instructions. In my opinion, the room card and spa bracelet should be combined into a single device. Check-in is strictly from 15:00 to 18:00, and if you want to arrive outside of this timeslot, you must communicate it in advance. Check-out is strictly before 11:00. The hotel has little to no flexibility when it comes to organization. Breakfast is good, and you can enjoy a river view, which was nice. However, after 09:45, we were constantly reminded that breakfast closes at 10:15. Oh my god! Okay, I get it, I'm eating as fast as possible! Just chill out! The room itself was nice: large, clean, and quiet, with a view of the forest. Unfortunately, the bed and pillows were hard, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. There was no air conditioning unit, only a ceiling fan. While the fan did a decent job, an AC unit would be much better. The bathroom was great: fresh and almost perfectly clean. Note that there were no snacks or drinks in the fridge. At the Palais Thermal, there is a "textilfrei" policy, meaning everybody is naked in the saunas and thermal pools. There are two normal pools where people can decide to be naked or not, and almost everyone still chose to be naked. If you prefer pools with clothed people, they recommend going to the Vital Therme complex; however, this is a 2-minute uphill walk and is paid separately. Overall, our stay was not bad, but also not great. We paid €572 altogether for two people for two nights, which included the room, breakfast, the garage, and the tourist tax: a very decent price. If you specifically want to experience authentic German sauna culture, this place will be a good fit for you. For anyone else, I do not recommend it.
