Hotel Filderhof

“Nice hotel, good location, awful breakfast ”

Spent 3 nights here on a business trip. My room was clean & comfortable with a really good shower. The location is good, just off the main street. The breakfast however is abysmal. Despite this I would stay again when in the area.

I stayed at the Filderhof hotel in January as i was attending an exhibition at the Messe. I arrived around 10pm to find the door locked and no lights on. I stayed at the Filderhof hotel in January as i was attending an exhibition at the Messe. I arrived around 10pm to find the door locked and no lights on. There was a number to call if you arrive after 9pm. I was informed my key was in a key box outside and to let myself in. Room was nice and tidy, I had 2 single beds pushed together and a very slim pillow. The bathroom was very nice with a large shower :-). a balcony overlooked the local area which was a nice touch. overall a good hotel just a bit dark and lonely late at night.

Stayed at this site for (4) nights, and do not recommend this location in Summer months. No Air Conditioning on site, tiny shower, not close to S-bahn, and basic mattress. Stayed at this site for (4) nights, and do not recommend this location in Summer months. No Air Conditioning on site, tiny shower, not close to S-bahn, and basic mattress. Breakfast was not included in the room rate, but after seeing what was offered, it was not a big loss for the extra cost. It does have an elevator, but you still need to carry your bags up 1/2 a flight of stairs to get to some rooms

Filderhof is a good, newish basic accommodation hotel. It's right downtown Leinfelden, just off the Hauptstrasse on a small brick side street. Free WiFi, but a weak signal. Room is about 9x10 feet plus a hall and bath, and it has a small balcony. Furniture is basic: two single beds (one made, one not), a tiny wall-mounted desk, small TV with cable, closet shelf unit, and Ikea chair. Bath is so small, it was difficult to maneuver. Free mineral water. No coffee pot. Breakfast is not included, was very good for only 10 euro. New key entry system was convenient.

“Nice hotel with a great general manager in town near airport.”

Full disclosure: I deduct one point for lack of USB charging stations. I my wife and I recently travelled and we carried 6 devices which use USB. And we are old fogies! So the entry procedures were odd. The machine outside the hotel was broken but the super nice general manager got us squared away… more

Full disclosure: I deduct one point for lack of USB charging stations. I my wife and I recently travelled and we carried 6 devices which use USB. And we are old fogies! So the entry procedures were odd. The machine outside the hotel was broken but the super nice general manager got us squared away quickly. The place is clean and well appointed. We had a fantastic room but the elevator did not go all the way to the top. We decided to stay in the room anyway due to the view. We did not get the breakfast opting instead for the local bakeries. We did however enjoy a soda and cappuccino which was nice. The WiFi was iffy. I was unable to conduct and business online on three of my devices - no idea what the issue was. Again, the general manager was very helpful but was unable to resolve the issue. Our room was very warm during the unusually warm German September but the fans helped. Plenty of parking and good local restaurants are a plus.
