This charming hotel is delightful. It is spotlessly clean, everything sparkles. The food is delicious. We were on a half board basis and had a set menu the first night it was superb and the second night we had the petit gourmet menu with accompanied wines also included in our stay, absolutely perfect. It is a family run hotel in a wonderful setting overlooking the village. They don’t do lunch but we were out walking and on our arrival day we had lunch at the Espress O bistro at the station much nicer than it sounds. Excellent rosti.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a walking holiday. We had a lovely room with outside sitting area. The hotel is well situated being 10 minutes walk from the station. We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a walking holiday. We had a lovely room with outside sitting area. The hotel is well situated being 10 minutes walk from the station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The real highlight though was the food. On our first night we had a 5 course gourmet menu which showcased local ingredients, with each course beautifully cooked. Unexpectedly, each course was accompanied by a very generous glass of perfectly matched wine. The very friendly waiter and sommelier explained each course. The standard course set meal when ch we had on the second evening, whilst not so lavish, was equally delicious and I would have been very happy to eat there for several evenings, had we not had to move on to our next hotel.

Location, room, food and service all of the highest standard. Location, room, food and service all of the highest standard. Breakfasts were a delight - a wide range of cereals meats, cheeses and fruit juices- perfect before a hike through the beautiful Black Forest countryside. The dinners and wine were of exceptional quality, locally sourced and extremely filling and tasty. The staff were superb, pleasant and helpful throughout- from having a car waiting to take us the quarter of a mile from the station to the hotel to provideing an excellent packed lunch to help us on our way when we set off on the next leg of our walking holiday. Our room (no9) didn't have the best of views, but those from the restaurant and the terrace wes delightful. We shall return hopefully for a longer stay

“Tremendous little hotel”

Visited the hotel for two nights on a walking holiday in the Black Forest. Staff extremely helpful and we had an excellent gourmet meal with matching wines. They certainly know their stuff as regards local wines and the food was imaginative and interesting. Possibly avoid Thursdays when the hotel… more

Visited the hotel for two nights on a walking holiday in the Black Forest. Staff extremely helpful and we had an excellent gourmet meal with matching wines. They certainly know their stuff as regards local wines and the food was imaginative and interesting. Possibly avoid Thursdays when the hotel is effectively shut for service after lunch time but there was access to an honesty minibar which had everything we needed and there are alternative restaurants and hotels in the village. We had a ground floor room with a small terrace and were very comfortable.
