Friendly staff, authentic hotel with good facilities in a great location for the railway station and bus stops. We arrived by bus with two heavy bags and were delighted to see the hotel right in front of us. A nice man gave us a friendly check-in with lots of information and help with getting a free Berchtesgaden Guest Card which gave us free bus travel within the area and discounts. We had an apartment in their guest house (next to main hotel) and it gave us everything we needed and a little more space with kitchenette and balcony. Bathroom was European in styling and a little dated but exceptionally clean, plenty of towels and great shower. Nice touches in the wardrobe were bathing robes for pool and blankets and cushions for use outside. Breakfast was good with a decent variety. Very nice outdoor seating and the weather was great. I’d say most guests breakfast earlier than us but on the one occasion that things need replenishing they quickly made us some fresh eggs and bacon. Nothing was too much trouble on another occasion when we arrived back from a trip between meals they cooked up some french fries as a snack. We didn’t use the pool but looked great. We enjoyed the sun beds on the bank of the river. There is a 10min walk up a fairly steep hill to Berchtesgaden centre and we enjoyed doing this to find places to eat out and browse the buildings and shops. It is a beautiful town. If you don’t want the walk the taxi rank at station always had cars waiting or free bus!

“Fantastic and friendly service”

Great little hotel with really helpful staff and excellent breakfast. The rooms were really well equipped and the bathroom was really smart. Beautiful swimming pool with massage/ relaxation jets, with area to sit and relax, plus sauna Very close to the station.

Nice little hotel right on the river. No air conditioning, and we went in august during a heat wave. Rooms got so hot and even the restaurant was unbearably hot. Pictures show hotel on river, which it is, but right next to the river is the main 4 lane road that goes through town. Breakfast was amazing with so much to choose from, dinners were just ok. We spent more time just having drinks on the lovely patio area. Evening staff at patio was so lovely and accommodating when they realized we were celebrating an anniversary. Location is nice and easily walkable. I would stay again, just never in the summer.

Authentic, Great Staff and Unforgettable Vacation. No AC. We arrived late due to bad weather coming from Neu Schwanstein. Staff quickly responded to our WhatsApp text. My primary concern was that if we hadn't made it until after 22:00 we would have lost our reservation? Their wonderful restaurant was open until 22:00. Great selections for breakfast and offered my husband Gluten Free options. Our room/apartment was located in the house next to the hotel on the 2nd floor (no elevator) which complicated our luggage situation. The room had a small kitchen which was helpful; however, it was insanely hot when we arrived and there is no AC or fans available in this building. Good location as it is in walking distance to the train and bus station as well as to the Salt Mine Tour. The downtown area (shopping and restaurants) is actually located across the street on the mountain. If you don't get an Uber or bus, be prepared for a hike up the mountain. We took the public bus to visit Eagles Nest which was a breathtaking sightseeing experience! My only regret was not taking the time to take a river tour while we were there.
