Driving back from our holiday in Bavaria at the end of of last August we broke down in the middle of nowhere. Left to our own devices our breakdown cover said we could book our own hotel and we would be reimbursed. Like some sort of modern miracle we were close to Hotel Block. It was AMAZING!!! The staff were so very kind especially as we arrived so dishevelled and a bit fed up . The rooms were amazing and even accommodated a last minute request for adjoining rooms. One of us even had a mini putting green in the room! The breakfast is the best we have ever seen. Anything you could imagine wanting for breakfast was there. The drinks and snacks in the lounge we still talk about. Hands down the best vodka martini I have ever had and the presentation of the tea was outstanding- even included a timer for perfect brew. Spa facilities were incredible even with though I forgot to expect willies and ladygardens ahoy (being typical British I was in a bathing suit). Staff went above and beyond even so far as contacting us when they found a toy we’d left and arranged delivery back to our home in the Uk. Can not recommend Hotel Block enough!

“Really good!”

If you look for an accommodation around here, this is a good option. Very comfortable rooms, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. The proximity of the shopping mall, it’s a plus! If you accept a pizza dinner, that’s also your kind of place! We felt great here, as a family of four, for one night!

I spent one night here on my way from North Germany to Italy. It is just a few hundred meters from the highway. I make the trip often and have tried many different hotels and motels along the route. Although Block was slightly (but only slightly) more than I usually spend, it was most definitely worth it. The (standard double) room, while not vast, was certainly not cramped. And the room layout was extremely well thought-out, unlike many places where, when you sit at the desk, you can feel the bed pressing into your back, or you have to squeeze sideways to get past the wardrobe. Here, you could move around freely. The bathroom was also roomy, with a large walk-in shower. The room has a mini-bar (which I didn't use) and a coffee maker (which I did). The common spaces are also nicely appointed and well thought out in terms of flow. There is a large garden terrace and a smaller terrace off the breakfast room. As I am covid-cautious, I sat and ate outside, which was not a problem. The only drawback is that there is no restaurant in the hotel. But they provide you with a list of nearby places to eat. Or you can opt for what they called " bar snacks", either pizza or a salad. I had the salad, which was the size of a main course and tasted good. The bar has a nice selection of wines. As compensation for no evening restaurant, the breakfast was killer. A vast variety of hot foods, both sweet and savory, and good quality cold cuts and juices. (And, yes, a muesli bar, which I saw out of the corner of my eye ;-)) Both the common spaces and the room/bathroom were spotless and seemed well-maintained. All the personnel, from reception to bartender, were friendly and professional. As others have mentioned, you can hear the highway a bit in the outdoor spaces and if you open the window in your room. So if you are highly noise-sensitive, probably not the place for you. Otherwise, I recommend it.

It’s a good choice for spending a night here. The close proximity to the highway can bring some noise but other then this you can say there is none. You will have a good night sleep. The room(car room) was funny and I didn’t expect something like that. The room was clean but it can do with more maintenance. The stuff is so and so. In the morning at breakfast and check out we had a really pleasant experience(10 of September) but in the evening at check in we got welcomed with a passive aggressive attitude from both employees. And we got reminded about that hostility when we asked for the towels for the sauna. The breakfast was amazing. Always having everything you need(you can see it being refilled every 10 minutes). All in all if you get lucky to get the nice stuff you will have an amazing stay.
