Hotel Le Méridien is located opposite Nürnberg railway station. The hotel was built in 1896. Between 1945 and 1954 it was the US Army HQ. After the renovation in 2009 the hotel offers 192 rooms, restaurant, brasserie, bar, meeting rooms & spa. Furnishings and decoration provide a charming atmosphere. Service is friendly and helpful. We had an upgraded room with desk & chair, bench & 2 club-chairs, suitcase as coffee table, wardrobe with safe, TV, tea & Illy espresso facility. The Illy espresso lacks in the standard rooms. We had a separate bedroom with excellent double bed, complimentary mineral water & TV. And a separate bathroom with washbasin, toilet, shower over bath. All was super clean. An excellent buffet breakfast is served: eggs made to order, cold cuts & cheeses, breads & toast, cereals & fruits, milk & yoghurts, juices & preserves, croissants & pastries, tea & coffee. Le Méridien is an attractive grand hotel, and an excellent choice for several days. Highly recommended.

Beyond doubt, the top address in Nuremberg. THe Grand Hotel has everything you expect from a Grand. Top downtown location, nice old "historic" interiors, spacious luxurious rooms and everything tastefully appointed. Check-in was super friendly and efficient and well prepared. Our room was luxurious in all aspects - we loved the view on the entrance portal of the old town pedestrian area. Everything in pristine clean order. Top notch bedding so you get a perfect nights sleep. All technical and entertainment works perfect - from plugs to WLAN to TV - all indeed very Grand Hotel style. Check-out: same experience - friendly and efficient. Parking; we used the main station parking garage just accross the road. Easily accessible and plenty of spaces with a good rate on weekends. The one no-go, very unfortunately: breakfast. Choice and quality of produce is average and most of the staff appears new on the job or lack training. From the servers to the cook preparing the egg dishes - they're all friendly and helpful but a server constantly trying to remove your plates before you finish and a cook not being capable of flipping an omelet isn't what you'd come to expect especially given everything else is top notch . That would be - my take - an easy one to fix without having to spend lots of money. One well experienced supervisor would do the job I guess.

Stayed at Le Meridien Nuremberg for six nights in August 2025. As a Marriott Bonvoy member I was upgraded to a larger room than originally reserved. It was located on the first floor (the floor above the lobby) with a view of the plaza outside in which was located a major tram stop which one can use to get to the Nuremberg Trial Center and the Zoo. Windows were well insulated for soundproofing so no issues there. The main train station was less than a block beyond which was super convenient as I arrived by train and found the walk easy and problem free. The room itself was large and spacious. It had a comfortable king bed, a desk with chair on which were a coffee/tea service and outlets for charging devices. Next to the desk there was a luggage storage area. At the foot of the bed were two cozy club chairs and in addition a nightstand on each side of the bed with space for small items. There was a large closet with ample space (both hangers and drawers) for clothing and my carry-on as well as safe and an iron/ironing board. Where I had an issue with was the bathroom, specifically the tub which was hard to get into due to height reasons. Furthermore the tub floor was slippery and did not have a mat so I went to a home furnishing store downtown and bought a mat which I placed on the floor and was thankfully not removed during my stay. To be fair, I was shown a handicapped room with a walk-in shower but that room was a bit smaller and was very dark with no view so I opted to stay in the room I had been given -.had to sacrifice some comfort for the nicer room. As to the decor it was very muted with a predominantly black and white color scheme. Granted it looks elegant but I would have liked a little splash of brightness here and there. The large window which brought in a lot of light certainly helped in this regard. If the room had no window with little or no view this may have been a bigger issue than it was. Check-in was quick and courteous with a dedicated area for Marriott Bonvoy members. However, a large incidental charge is imposed above the room rate, a practice which many hotels are now doing and which I find to be quite unnecessary as one can pay extra for services on one's own and be charged to the room statement. The unused portion was refunded on my credit card statement but I just see this as a way to make the guests spend more money which I did not do. There is a extra charge for breakfast I believe it was 30 euros which was the rate I was given to order it upon check-in. Had I paid daily in the dining room it would have been 35 euros. And now to the food and beverage service. The breakfast was excellent in a beautiful old dining room with plenty of hot and cold items plus pastries and beverages (juices, water, coffee and tea) spread over three separate dining areas. However I wished to have dinner at the hotel but was told that during the summer the hotel did not serve full dinners due to may of the guests dining out. Instead, the bar was open during the day and normal dinner hours serving bar food and drinks. One evening after dining out I returned to the hotel bar for a double shot of Bailey's and was charged 18 euros - with a tip came out to 20 euros. A bit much I think even for a hotel of this category. As others have mentioned, there is no real lobby. The "lobby" is a small sitting area at the entrance just to the side of the check-in desk. Beyond is a large room leading to the various meeting rooms - public restrooms are downstairs. There is a good-sized fitness center on the first floor but I did not use it so cannot comment on that. Near the check-in desk there is a small business center with a computer where you can print out tickets and which also has a small display with historical photos of the hotel. Check-out was smooth and quick. Rooms must be vacated by I believe noon and as long as you vacate the room by then the front desk will hold your luggage until 3:00 P.M. after which a fee will be charged. I used the train to get my next destination so as mentioned the hotel is in perfect walking distance to the station so the location to that and the Old Town (a short one block walk to the right) is excellent. The hotel also is very historic but this has been detailed in other reviews so will not elaborate here. So the hotel's historic charm and excellent service are a plus to stay at the Meridian Grand. However, the rooms may not be everyone's taste - one may need to ask to see more than one room and choose accordingly. The incidental fees and expensive services may also be a factor. In closing this is a property which may suit some but not all personal tastes. I would consider the Meridien for a future stay but there are other options as well in tourist-heavy Nuremberg.
