“Great hotel close to Old Town”

Great hotel close to the train station and a few minutes walk to old town. Great room, comfortable beds, great shower, staff was fantastic and parking was easy.

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel. We also came for the Christmas market in Nov/Dec. This is one of my favourite hotels. We were greeted like old friends on arrival and given the same room as last time which I had requested in advance ( thank you Miriam). Lovely staff and facilities. Very clean and restaurant is excellent. Special thanks to Ahmed for everything he helped us with. Special thanks to Sabine in the restaurant who gave us excellent service. Extra special thanks to Corina at breakfast who not only gave us exceptional service but also remembered our coffee orders from our last visit. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we look forward to our next visit.

I want to thank the staff of the Sheraton Carlton Hotel Nurenberg for helping to create wonderful memories of my first German Christmas Market. Everyone was so helpful from the front desk concierge staff, to the restaurant staff who welcomed me each day for breakfast and for dinner by name. It's a warm atmosphere there and comes highly recommended. This hotel was a perfect location to visit all of the sites, museums and Christmas Market and other town events. It sits to my surprise down a quiet side street behind the Nurenberg Main train station if you exit the rear exit of the station and walk straight you will be there in 8-10 minutes at most. My upgraded room was spacious and faced a quiet side street where I could see the DB trains go by in the distance. The bathroom was spacious, modern and the best hot shower with adjustable position head with excellent water pressure I think I have ever experienced. The room temp is adjustable and warm. If you are there other seasons the room picture window does open for fresh outdoors air. The lighting was excellent and even had a setting for subtle under bed lighting that gets you to the bathroom at night- a great safety feature. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows and housekeeping kept my room well stocked with fresh daily towels. I slept well every night. As a Marriott Bonvoy member it was a delight for my 7-night stay. The breakfast was delicious every morning with many selections of local foods, sausages, made to order omelets, smoked trout and salmon as well as fresh fruit, breads, and fresh juices. The staff were attentive to all customer needs. The Dinner service was also of similar quality, and the selection of regional German foods and European cuisine would meet most guests needs. I found no reason to eat elsewhere. I had access to the Club Lounge Floor for mid-day beverages, snacks, and there is a great outdoor balcony with tables and umbrellas that during the warmer weather would afford you a great view of the city. You can walk to most museums and the markets from the hotel. It's 1 block from a U -Bahn stop if you are going to other locations in the city. Again, the U2 train from the Main station- a short 1 block away from the hotel takes you directly into Nurenberg airport for a 3.90 Euro ticket as I recall that is purchased at a ticket machine outside the airport and at the main train station. I took a day trip to Regensberg also by train and Munich and other towns are nearby if you wish to venture out. I could not have asked for a better hotel, great location with wonderful staff. It comes highly recommended.

Stayed 3 nights at this property. The customer service is good but the overall feel is an establishment that needs someair breathed into it. The rooms are tired, the restaurant is tired and overall feel is like walking into the 1990s. The club lounge really isn't a club lounge but a spot that doesn't get used much. I just get the feeling the place survives on its name and not by its current presentation. Having said this, there wasn't anything horrible about the place, just nothing that draws me back and definitely not up to most Sheraton standards. Good points: 1. Gym/ fitness was adequate 2. Customer service 3. Location next to old town / train station Points for improvement 1. Room decor 2. Restaurant area 3. Common areas 4. Parking prices Overall - probably wouldn't stay for the price point unless I needed the nights to make staus with BonVoy.
