We’d recommend the Old Town Hotel strongly for a good stay in Berlin – we were there for seven nights, and felt we’d made a very good choice. I suppose it’s at the budget end of pricing for hotel accommodation close to the centre of a major European city, but it is still very comfortable and secure, with friendly assistance at the desk and a good breakfast, again with friendly service. Location is excellent – just four stops on the tram from Alexander Platz; once there it’s easy to get to any destination in Berlin, and the airport train will drop you off at Alexander Platz station, so transfers are no problem. The area around the hotel is fine. We ate at an Italian restaurant across the road on two evenings, and there’s an excellent Vietnamese street food café just round the corner, which we also used twice. This means that after a good day of sightseeing you can easily eat well within close proximity of the hotel. If we returned to Berlin I’m pretty sure we’d stay at the Old Town hotel again, and recommend it to anybody we knew who was planning a trip themselves.

“5 days thoroughly enjoyed”

Quiet located in a backyard. Definitely no traffic noise. Mattress already a bit worn. However, still in a good shape for a pleasant sleep. Basic room interior with a flair. Recently renovated small bathroom with shower. Room and bathroom were very clean as well as the rest of the hotel. Nice breakfast room. Breakfast buffet has no vast variety, but a well selected offer for a very good start of the day. Supermarket, Eateries, restaurants, snack bars, drugstore and tram stop in vicinity. Expect a 20 mins walk with light baggage and comfort shoes from 'Alexanderplatz'. Very friendly and helpful staff. I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 day stay.

“Nice Room, Not Easy to Get To”

The hotel is at a nice location, close to cafes and restaurants. It’s also convenient for public transport, right next to an M4 tram stop. My room was very quiet as it was tucked away in the back. The room was also spotlessly clean and the layout was nice; despite being a small room, it felt spacious. The main challenge was getting luggage into and out of the room, because even taking the lift, one would need to take a few steps up or down to get to where the room was. Also, getting from the street to the hotel enterance, the ground is not even (which is common in the area.)
