From my perspective this place has it all for an overnight stay in Germany, or just for food and drink if in Fulda. Although it borders Fulda itself, the surroundings are nevertheless pastoral, with a meadow and a creek that drives a functioning water wheel - I was lucky enough to have a room where the window opened up to both the view and the sound. The room was comfortable, modernized and very clean. The downstairs features a restaurant with very old-fashioned, German countryside ambiance. And then there is the "Brauhaus". You can drink beer right next to the copper kettles. The two flagship beers, a lighter lager (but not a pilsner) and a dark (Dunkel) both excellent, are always on tap and then there are seasonal brews at times. The Brauhaus features a lighter menu, not necessarily all in calories, but in choices.

“Nice hotel but promised more”

The hotel building is cute and old with an old watermill adapted to generate electricity for the hotel. The hotel building is cute and old with an old watermill adapted to generate electricity for the hotel. There is a good Brauerei/biergarten on the far side of the hotel and it's good that the noise from this doesn't carry to the rooms. Our room had a low sloping roof making it a bit awkward to walk around the bed, and the bathroom was very small. The curtains were thin meaning the daylight would wake us up early in the morning. The location is good being a nice few minutes' stroll from the cathedral and historic centre.

“Nice place in the heart of Fulda”

This is a very nice guesthouse near the center of Fulda. It is set on the edge of the town park, so you have the feeling of being out in the countryside, but you are only about a 5 minute walk to the Dome (big cathedral in Fulda). This is a very nice guesthouse near the center of Fulda. It is set on the edge of the town park, so you have the feeling of being out in the countryside, but you are only about a 5 minute walk to the Dome (big cathedral in Fulda). They brew their own beer here and it is well worth trying. There is a very large outside eating and drinking area, with an associated informal inside area. There is also a restaurant, with a slightly larger choice of items to order. We did have some very slight problems communicating (we have English only) as some of the staff speak German only, a slight change from when Fulda used to be the home of a major American military base. However, they were always willing to find another staff member to help out, so no real issue. Breakfast was very good, with fresh bread on offer, but don’t expect a full English or American breakfast. No eggs to order.

“Very rustique but not bad at all”

We stayed here on a weekday for lunch only. The meals weren't world class but a good local choice and no one left the table hungry. The prices were overall reasonable. You should try out one of the home brewed beers. We came here on a cold and rainy day so we couldn't use the outside seating area.
