This is clearly a hotel meant for large conferences, the rooms and equipment were professional, though the microphones were a bit troublesome. The rooms were bright and spacy, but as it was very hot outside, only a ceiling fan did not do the trick, I would have preferred air condition. The food at the restaurant was fabulous, a great variety of tasty dishes to choose from. There is plenty of parking spaces at different prizes nearby.

“Nothing special, good for a short stay”

We stayed at the hotel for one night. The rooms are large but quite warm and stuffy. There is a ventilator and I guess this is enough most of the year, but on a warm day a bit of AC would have been nice. The room furniture is essential and the bed comfortable. We stayed at the hotel for one night. The rooms are large but quite warm and stuffy. There is a ventilator and I guess this is enough most of the year, but on a warm day a bit of AC would have been nice. The room furniture is essential and the bed comfortable. The free internet does not work very well in the rooms. The lobby is very large and a little chaotic (there were quite a few conferences and events going on at the same time) with some musical entertainment in the evening. The SPA area is pretty nice with sauna, pool, relax area and gym. To make it perfect one would need to warm up the sauna a little more (it was 45 degrees), have some water dispensers close to the sauna and in the gym, and cool down the gym with AC. The breakfast buffet has a very broad choice of salty and sweet food. At the moment they are renovating the breakfast room, so we sat in in a large conference hall set up with many tables; it was not particularly comfortable but it worked fine.

I've reviewed the Grand Hotel La Strada once before ... 5 years ago when I last stayed there. I gave it an average score, but hoped 5 years later maybe things might have improved. Not really. I've spent a week there. The only change appears to be extra (unstaffed) reception desks and Wifi. It's free (read slow and unreliable). The lifts are still v e r y slow; the rooms are big and clean but still the same tired furniture. Mine had a random table but no chairs (previous years There were two soft chairs). Rooms very warm and no air-con. TV had 25 channels with none in English. Not one. Food is still good in restaurant; breakfast choice still good. Evening entertainment is still provided by the karaoke pop duo singing away. They're so loud you cannot escape. Even 1 floor up. The single water bottle was never replaced after I drank it. The minibar is empty and remained so. It's not the worst hotel I've stayed in, but it certainly could be a lot better.
