“It’s Fantastic”

The hotel is in the perfect location, have a tasty breakfast, and the rooms are large. The staff is very accommodating, and I did not have a language barrier due to the fact that I’m American. The hotel won’t disappoint.

The reception at the front desk was a bit chaotic, due to the fact that the IT system was giving problems. But the two people at the check in did their utmost best, in so far that I got my room card and could pay afterwards. The room was large and very clean. Beds were good. The pillows were a bit too soft for me. There is a mini bar in the room with free drinks. Bath room was very clean with a nice shower (only point of attention : in the shower there is nothing foreseen to put your shampoo or shower gel . (not everyone uses the foreseen hotel product). The hotel itself is very nicely situated in the old center (old port) of the town and along a small river. The breakfast is simply marvelous with a very large choice of warm and cold dishes. The only thing that makes that I am not giving 5 points is the parking problem. The hotel has 50 meters from the entrance a parking lot over 2 floors. When we arrived in the early afternoon there were enough free places. (I paid at the check in for 2 nights parking and was told that the parking ticket was valid for two days. When I left the parking lot the next morning, my ticket was withheld by the machine. Returning in the evening the parking was full... (in other words there is no control on the number of cars alltough I paid in advance for 2 nights). Luckily I heard at the front desk (a lady who was complaining that there was no place in the parking, that we could use the parking of the Bergström hotel (also part of Dormero group, which was around the corner). If I hadn't overheard this conversation by chance, I wouldn't have known because no one at check-in had mentioned this. Luckily there was a place (only one) in their underground parking. In our hotel, I told at the front desk that I parked in the other hotel and asked to validate my ticket, so that I could get out of the parking in the morning, considering the reception is only open from 3pm to 11pm (remember I paid in advance for 2 nights) but that was not possible. I needed to get back to the Bergström hotel to validate my ticket. Do not park in the Kaufhausstrasse (entrance of hotel) . Several cars got a fine in the morning. Alltough it is a one way street and the street is wide enough you are not allowed to park there..... I suppose that with a control system about the number of places in the parking and mentioning that one can park in the other hotel, a lot of problems could be avoided.

Good location and service. Dog friendly hotel. Room carpet was dirty and smelled bad. Minibar included but it was only for 1 person. Good huge bed and bathroom. Nice view to the river. Parking place is next to the hotel, but 19 eur cost is expensive of non-secured park. There were nice park to walk… more
