“Nice condo type hotel”

Paying public parking in street (meters). Very small, only 1 person at the reception with no around the clock coverage like in standard hotels. No elevator. Rooms are fine, nice balcony with view and vines (overgrown).

“Disappointing and over-priced”

The hotel is located about 11 minutes' walk from the train station. The premises were locked when we arrived with seemingly no staff on site. We buzzed the intercom and after a few confusing moments we were let in. We had four rooms on three different floors. You should note that there is no lift. The rooms were pleasant enough; all very much the same with double beds. The bathrooms have heated floors. None of the rooms have safes, which I thought was a big omission for the price charged here. My bathroom shower had a clingy, plastic curtain, rather than glass sides and a shower head that could only be used as a hand-held due to the way it was poorly fitted. A very small, 19 inch TV was present in my room. It had access to around 600+ channels whereas my colleagues' TVs only had about 28 channels, maximum. Glass bedside tables were covered in greasy fingerprints when I arrived which indicated to me that they had not been cleaned recently. On returning to the hotel a few hours later, on our first day, we were approached by a member of staff who asked us to complete information cards (which were printed entirely in German) so it was near impossible. She had to take most of us through them, line by line, explaining what was required. Registration cards in English would have helped no end here. Of our four rooms, three had baths but room 24 did not have one. The hotel guide, found in the room, was entirely in German, so was utterly useless to a non-German speaker. Some pages had clearly been removed by an earlier guest, but not replaced by the hotel. There was a small minibar in the room with surprisingly reasonable prices. It includes two bottles of beer but no suitable glasses were provided (except for wine and prosecco). Having consumed one beer and one small wine on the first night, I was surprised to find that they had not been replenished the next day and nor had my wine glass even been washed. It was still sitting on the side, stained with the red wine from the night before. Likewise, the towels in my (and the others') bathroom had not been changed and neither had the microscopic shower gel bottle (20 millilitres) been replenished. All in all, not what I would expect for the money charged here. The hotel has no bar. On the plus side, there is free wifi throughout and it worked fine. Breakfast was served on the ground floor, by reception. It was a pretty limited choice. Initially, when we arrived, there were no cold meats but after we had been there for about 10/15 minutes, a plate of cold meats appeared. We didn't see any eggs but discovered later that they were in a basket which had been covered to keep them warm. That also meant nobody knew they were there. I don't think breakfast was worth €10. On our second night, somebody in the hotel started playing music at about 02:15am and it went on until precisely 05:25am. I know because I lay awake, unable to sleep. I realise this is not the hotel's fault, but had staff been present, on site, perhaps something could have been done about this. Although the hotel décor was pleasant enough, for the price we paid (and even that was way below the published rate) I thought, overall, the place was disappointing and too expensive. I would not return.
