“Good place to spend a weekend”

Hotel os a bit outdated but clean and quite. Beds were cofortable. Very few amanities, even not having a cooker. But we felt welcome by the staff. The receptionist Mr. Caglar was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here as we were visiting my father-in-law locally. It's a simple hotel, but it's smart, priced well and offered a varied breakfast (optional). Staff friendly and leave you to it. The room was perfectly fine with it's own balcony and a very good shower. The wardrobe area with several shelves was very accommodating, and there is a desk to work at in the room. There is also a small car park at the rear. liked it here. Downside: our double bed was two twin beds pushed together and my pillow was lumpy. EVERYTIME we got back to the hotel the 'Friends' theme tune would come into my head. Boo. But I recommend it as it is just a couple of minutes walk to the Kurpark and town centre

We were quite happy to score a very good rate at this hotel although there was a trade fair going on and in such situations Bad Salzuflen with its limited decent hotel rooms thinks it can turn into Frankfurt or Düsseldorf price wise. Being born in Bad Salzulfen, it was pretty said to see how the neighbourhood around the hotel went downhill in the past years: lots of former respectable hotels apparently became refugee accommodations and upper Wenkenstraße is certainly not a street you want to walk at nighttime anymore. Let's hope that this generally quite attractive property, a revamped 1970s structure, will be the initial spark for a turnaround. Our junior-suite like room, furnished IKEA style, was bright and quite pleasant, but we had issues with a lack of heating which was - according to front desk - controlled centrally and never managed to warmed up our room. Furthermore, our bedroom was adjacent to the room where breakfast was prepared, which meant loud noises from about 7 a. m. on. Breakfast buffet was ok and featured some Turkish items (the hotel's management has a Turkish background). The ladies taking care of the buffet were quite grumpy and not very hospitable. From the imprints on the napkins e. g. you could tell, that they bought some of their buffet equipment from other properties at a bargain. Would I stay here again? Probably not, but in a situation like ours we were happy to have an affordable accomodation here.
