“What a find”

Rooms here are huge. More a studio apt. Right beside the railway station. Breakfast buffet is good. Set you up for the day. 10 min walk to the city centre. There is loads of shops in the railway station.

We were here for a week during the Bachfest in 2024, and found this to be a comfortable and convenient place to stay. It nicely balances being accessible by car (if you are driving, as we were) with proximity to the old part of town, where you don't want to be driving at all you can help it. The hotel is a reasonably short walk from all the tourist attractions in the old town, as well as from all the concert locations, which are mostly in the old town. The hotel is also proximal to the train station, which means that you are only a block from a major public transit station for buses and trams - helpful if you are planning to use the tram/bus system. The rooms are large, with a large bathroom, and have lots of storage space. The WIFI worked well for us. Staff were very helpful, and spoke English with competence ranging from good to excellent. The breakfast was very good, with lots of choice. The food was well-prepared. The breakfast area had enough seating space that we were always able to find a table. Some reviews have mentioned noise from the trams running by the hotel. It is true that they do run by the hotel regularly. I did not find this to be an issue at all, as the weather was cool enough that the windows could be closed during the night. However, the hotel does not have air-conditioning, so this might be an issue in mid-summer, if you had to have windows open for cooling. If you are staying here in July or August, I'd suggest making your booking conditional on having a room that is not streetside i.e. not northfacing. I did not find it difficult to locate the hotel while driving, but note that you MUST approach the hotel from the south, on Querstrasse, as the main street on the north side of the hotel is transit-only. Some GPS systems (including ours) will not know this, so review the immediate area on Google maps before driving to the hotel, and plan your route. The underground parking, while expensive, was convenient. When checking in, we parked first on Querstrasse, briefly, where there is street parking, then got the parking pass from the reception area and parked underground before checking in. Overall, this was a convenient and comfortable stay.

“Nice hotel”

The hotel is nice and located close to the station and 10 min afoot from the city center. The room was really big and pretty comfortable and clean. The wifi was ok. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice. It was pretty hot in the room. Too bad for an hotel of this standing.

“Charged Visa points then again at checkout.”

If your trying to pay with visa chase points or possibly any reward points their system doesnt recognize that you paid. So we have to pay with credit card again at checkout and then go through getting a refund of the points back. Was able to get everything taken care of but still super annoying. Th… more

So we have to pay with credit card again at checkout and then go through getting a refund of the points back. Was able to get everything taken care of but still super annoying. They also were going to charge us for parking when we didn’t even park there. We will not be using any travel points for bookings with best western from now on. I still have 3 stars because other than that the hotel was great. Staff was super friendly, breakfast was good, super clean, even had little chocolates in the room. Was a wonderful experience up until the checkout.
