For a 3* hotel the ``double room´´ size is quite good, the bathroom is just as spacious as most of the other 4* hotels in Spain. The Housekeepers do a good job maintaining the room and hotel installations clean. The hotel has had good refurbishment in the past, so I can't complain about old, unpainted and unfixed installations in the room or the hotel. The TV is small (about 19") but has a HDMI connection. The only complain we had about the room is that the mattresses were very hard & uncomfortable. It is a bit hard to find a parking spot near the hotel, especially on work days. We enjoyed their restaurant which is located in the garden which has nice views and has great food. The wine quantity in the glass and food quantity in the plates is excellent. The waiter and the chef do a very good job. The place is not understaffed, which is great, as it's something I always get very angry about.

“Fantastic small hotel near La Alhambra and Granada”

We loved our stay at the Hotel Calderon. There were 3 couples (all aged 58 to 69 years) on a budget so we enjoyed our low nightly rate at this hotel. The lobby along with the rooms is clean. Our rooms located on the first floor, had views facing the mountains and the backyard terrace. There was absolutely no street noise at night. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms had all the amenities needed. Two of rooms had balconies, yet we didn't get to enjoy them much since we were gone to see Granada most of the time. Which brings me to one of the best parts of staying here. There is City Bus #33 which stops just outside the hotel door and literally across the street. For 1.2 euros each one can ride to Gran Via in Granada. Then you take the La Alhambra bus from Gran Via. No messing with driving and navigating our way through town, finding parking, paying for parking, etc. The Hotel Calderon offered us private gated parking for our van, which was a real plus. One of our best meals during our 14 days in Spain and France was here at the Hotel Calderon. I highly recommend the Pizza Marinara - it was yummy. Also their breakfast croissants were toasted and well prepared. Last but not least was the thoughtful, caring, helpful staff at the hotel. They made our stay here very memorable. “Respectable Budget Hotel”

Stayed here for 2 nights. Good value, very friendly staff, good size room, in very good condition, everything worked. Not central, but only a 20 min bus journey into the city centre. A bit noisy as the room overlooked a busy street, also there was no toiletries in the bathroom, so bring your own. O… more

Stayed here for 2 nights. Good value, very friendly staff, good size room, in very good condition, everything worked. Not central, but only a 20 min bus journey into the city centre. A bit noisy as the room overlooked a busy street, also there was no toiletries in the bathroom, so bring your own. Overall, a positive experience, would go back (with shower gel...). Found a great local bar across the street, love mixing with the locals. Free on-street parking was a bonus

This is a budget hotel which basically does what it says on the tin, the rooms are functional with nothing fancy, they were clean and serviceable, obvious signs of wear, knobs missing, hairdrier not working, etc, but overall an ok stay. This is a budget hotel which basically does what it says on the tin, the rooms are functional with nothing fancy, they were clean and serviceable, obvious signs of wear, knobs missing, hairdrier not working, etc, but overall an ok stay. It has a pretty garden, but beware of traffic noise at the front, and occasional late night music from the garden, rooms at back has nice views of the mountains, ok for one or two nights, very handy to get into Granada, N21 bus stops right outside.
