The food is of good quality, but the selection is more limited than at some other resorts we've visited. One positive is that there was never any queuing, which made meal times much more relaxed. The drinks, particularly the Coke and Fanta, seemed to be of poor quality compared to the branded versions. However, all of the staff were friendly, polite, and helpful throughout our stay. We didn't take part in the entertainment, but it appeared to be mainly aimed at French guests. As for the mini golf which we were looking forward to, it closes at 5 and for 2 hrs at lunch so limited time to play. If reception held the equipment rather than the animation team this could be improved. One feature we really appreciated was that you can reserve sunbeds in the garden and beach areas, so there's no need to rush when the poolside gates open in the morning. The pool rules were very strict. No jumping in was allowed, and anyone under supervision had to be accompanied by an adult. While we understand the importance of safety, this seemed excessive, especially as our children are 14 and 17 and are both confident, proficient swimmers. It made the atmosphere around the pool feel a little restrictive. Some of the pool areas are also looking tired, with cracked tiles that could do with repair. Breakfast options could be improved. There was no semi-skimmed milk or fat-free yogurt—only full-fat options were available. The snacks outside of meal times were also disappointing, with a very limited selection. There was no fresh fruit, no hot snacks, just croissants. The rooms are looking tired and could do with refurbishment. There were also a few areas that felt potentially unsafe, such as loose flooring thatbthe laminate was lifting badly. On the positive side, the rooms were cleaned every day by the housekeeping team. One disappointment was that the Jet2 description stated that watersports such as pedalos were included, but this was not the case. The resort itself is in a quiet location. There are only a handful of nearby bars, most of which are beach bars serving mainly seafood. We were also hoping to find more traditional Greek dishes on offer. As wine lovers, we found it disappointing that local wine was generally only available by the bottle rather than in a carafe. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay thanks to the friendly staff, the relaxed atmosphere, and the quality of the food. While the resort has plenty of positives, there are several areas where improvements could be made to bring it in line with similar resorts. Would I rebook....no. Sadly not.

The hotel is located in a quiet and rural part of Athens where the climate was amazing. Starting with the positives of our stay. The staff at the reception were excellent and kind, they helped me organise and plan a birthday surprise for my partner by arranging flowers and cake. The food was really nice and changed everyday with new options including desert. However this was not the case with breakfast that remained the same everyday. The pool and beach were very comfortable and accessible for all we really enjoyed. My negatives that I felt was that it was quite hard to find a sun lounger seat as by 9 am zero were available including the ones around the pool and beach. The only way we were able to get a seat was to wake up early and find one which everyone did. In the main Olympia restaurant it got very overwhelming and very busy quickly but this can be avoided by going to the other restaurant. My main issue with Olympia was the FLYS there where everywhere including unused plates and foods which wasn’t pleasant. The room was nice not too outdated however what we really did not like is that we requested a double bed well in advanced but instead we had two singles pushed together which is really uncomfortable but we had too make do. My final issue was the entertainment it was present however heavily heavily focused on the French guests even the night entertainment which makes everyone who is not French or doesn’t speak it very left out and we found sometime we where bored and excluded as we really couldn’t join in. This was unfair and unjust and should change

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Overall we had a nice stay at Golden Coast Hotel & Bungalows, but there were a few things that let it down. The hotel itself is clean, the pools are nice, and the staff were friendly. However, we booked a double bed and got two single beds pushed together instead, which wasn’t very comfortable. The hotel also seems to be aimed mainly at French guests. Most of the entertainment and activities were in French, so at times we felt a bit left out. The biggest annoyance was the flies in the Olympia Restaurant. There were loads of them around during meals, which wasn’t very pleasant. The beach sunbeds were another issue. If you don’t get down there before 8am, you’ve got no chance of getting one because people put their towels on them first thing in the morning and leave them there all day, even when they’re not using them. It would be good if the hotel did something about this. It’s a decent hotel, but these things stopped it being a 4 or 5-star experience for us.

I would like to start off by saying we did have a lovely holiday. I will start with the positives the hotel is very clean and our room was very clean our cleaner did a great job. The hotel restaurants and reception is very modern and the waiters were very attentive. We never had a problem getting sun beds by the pool or beach. If you come out the hotel via the beach and walk right after 20 minutes you will find a port with bars and restaurants which was lovely. The negatives the hotel has three swimming pools and they are all freezing in our opinion we felt for a four star one could have been heated. The food is very basic and repetitive there was no bacon at breakfast and the sausages are like hot dog sausages, dinner was repetitive mainly chicken and pork, little fish and lamb. The room was very clean but needed modernising and the double beds are singles pushed together which was annoying/uncomfortable. The drinks are not branded they are all local which for a four star you would expect better. I asked on the first day for late check out I was told to come back I came back mid way through the holiday to come back on the last day, which I did and they said the room was booked out. I feel they could have told me this the first time I asked as I feel they would have known. We had a late flight home and had to use the pool toilet shower to get ready which contained one shower which had a queue and was not the cleanest. Even though I have mentioned the negatives I wanted to be honest, but we did have a lovely holiday overall.
