Afitis boutique hotel is a spotless place with spacious and modern rooms. The beach is really incredible with crystal blue water and there were always sun beds available at any time of the day. Alternatively you can choose the beautiful pool area with really comfortable sun-beds. The staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is amazing and if you choose the added buffet option you will be pleasantly surprised. There is an amazing selection of food to please the most demanding. Don’t forget to visit the traditional village of Afytos which is located in a walking distance from the hotel. This property deserves its star rating. We will visit it again for sure.

Hotel is set in a beautiful location and well maintained throughout. Public areas are well appointed and very stylish and modern. We paid for a garden view room. The room we were allocated 115 was small and looked onto a wall (see photos) not a garden view in my opinion, the bathroom was also small and the shower especially im a uk size 10 and I struggled to manoeuvre in it. This all kind of spoilt our experience in the hotel and if im honest didn't expect this type of room given the kaliber of the rest of the hotel.

“5 star.....I think not!!”

Note to self....read Tripadvisor before making a booking next time. MRSTCaterham hit the nail on the head and Tripadvisor description not correct e.g sandy beach.....rocky in parts, massage outdoors....not there, deluxe rooms...standard 3 star in UK with the smallest bathroom ever seen in a hotel, king size bed....no, TV channels ....only CNN, DVD/CD...no, luxury bathroom ameneties....one small soap for 2 people for 7 nights, bath....no, table tennis...no, theme nights....no. Equally hotel website an exaggeration of what the hotel actually provides. Good points....location, fluffy towels, breakfast buffet, transfers, staff, cleanliness. Bad points.......expectation of 5 star hotel and website description, no bar for pre and post dinner drinks (too cold outside), some health and safety issues, not allowed to eat lunch in open air, no comfortable lounges for 1 day of inclement weather, no drinks service round pool...you had to go and get it and the self service dinner buffet - hot food not hot....lukewarm at best verging on cold. Told Chef about it but no action, so only good thing about dinner was the local wine the cold starters and sweets. Sad thing was quality of raw product was good to start with. Also only hotel we have stayed in on a half board basis that does not give an allowance against eating a la carte...so you would pay twice for your dinner!! Badly needs management who care about their clients and about the service they provide, food at dinner....could be 5 star with that. as elements of it were at least 4 star.

Most definitely not a 5 * as the UK would know, the setting is beautiful , reception contemporary and well maintained but the rooms in the annexe we were given definitely not like the photographs , way too small for a 5* hotel and the bathrooms were miniscule, able to go to the loo clean, teeth and shower all at the same time so small! There were many positives, breakfast and dinner were buffets, the buffet food was of a very high standard and I am not a fan of buffet restaurants so this is praise indeed and the restaurant manager tried very hard when we sought to complain regarding seating. There is no waiter service , everything is self service. The housekeeping staff were excellent , the rooms cleaned excellently, and all areas of the hotel were clean and well presented ,however the pool towel man was often hard to find and the pool towels were locked away! One of the major problems is the attitude of the owner and the General manager his son, they just do not understand the word hospitality, there is an area in the restaurant that overlooks the beach and sea views but this was empty for 98% of the time but no one could sit there as it was for a la carte dining. NO ONE ate in the a la carte for the whole of out stay in the evening and just a few had lunch. Indeed the attitude of the hotel owner was a major problem , lights in the swimming pool had become loose with loose wiring hanging to the bottom, it took 3 days and much complaining for this to be sorted with the hotel owner telling me it had nothing to do do with me and to go and sunbathe, a major health and safety issue let alone extremely bad manners. The attitude began before we arrived , we enquired if it was possible to be credited for the half board on one or more evenings so that we could dine a la carte or use it for lunch and this was just met with a plain NO, i have never had that before. Overall we were a group of 3 couples and nothing was going to spoil our holiday and had a wonderful time but i find in this age of reviews that the attitude of the owner needs to drastically improve and understand the meaning of hospitality.
