A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights, really comfortable, quiet stay, lovely clean rooms, excellent breakfast. Excellent service regarding an item left behind in the room safe. They went out of their way to forward it to me.

We recommend with great confidence because it is a very good hotel, on the seashore.

“Welcoming Hotel Next to the Pier”

This is my first trip to Patras, and I am happy to say that the front desk at the Moxy proved extremely helpful in answering many of my questions. Being able to know what to expect in the shortest amount of time is very important, and kudos to the hotel staff for the wonderful tips which made my short and intense trip to the city something more than what I originally expected. I chose Moxy because the hotel next to the bus station was completely booked, and from google map, Moxy looked close enough to the bus terminal (which is my main point of entry/exit to the city). Since I was here on a business trip, it is very crucial that I can get to the buses without having to navigate complicated streets and alleys. The route from the bus station to the hotel is straightforward – just follow the main street next to the port. The only challenges I found along the way was a section where the pedestrian walkway was too narrow and blocked by occasional trees, while another three-way intersection proved to be an issue without a clear pedestrian crossing. (Interestingly, there seems to be a new and unused bus station here… I wonder why?) My room was on the second floor, so there wasn’t much of a view, but otherwise I think everything else met my expectations. Clean, not too fancy, and effective use of space – all great for business travelers who just need to lay out the contents of their suit case, take a quick shower, and crash for a good night’s sleep. As for hotel facilities, I didn’t have much time to explore or make use of them. I have favorable impression of the front lobby/lounge, since it feels nice and cozy with all the sofas and cushions (This area is also where breakfast is served in the morning). However, I do have a minor issue with how the lights are off in the hallways leading to my room (energy-saving, of course), but the automatic switch-on with motion sensor did give me a good scare. As for breakfast itself, there’s really nothing to complain about, especially the fact that I was able to secure donuts so early in the morning! (There’s also a grocery store on the same block – unfortunately that one doesn’t open around the clock). All in all, I really wish I have more time to explore the hotel during my stay. Despite the short stop in Patras, I am still very thankful that the hotel staff was able to prepare a takeout breakfast bag for me, since I had to check out in the wee hours to board an early bus leaving for Athens. Hopefully I will have more time on future trips to fully enjoy what the hotel and the city have to offer.
