An utterly perfect hotel and resort - probably the best place I’ve ever stayed. We were in a 1-bed suite which was ideal for our small family, and we were able to request everything we needed for our young children in advance - including a cot, bouncer and gro clock. The suite was large and comfortable and beautifully apppointed. We were on the first floor which was a little tricky with our buggy but if we booked again we would do so directly and try to request ground floor (we booked via Jet2 for this holiday). The pools and splash pad at Porto Sani are great and worked well for our family. Breakfast is superb, there are various options for lunch and the restaurants were lovely for dinner. By far the best things about staying at Sani, though, are the incredible dining options across the site (we did half board and used dine around a lot, some days for lunch and others for dinner - definitely reserve all your restaurants for dinner in advance) as well as the entertainment and facilities throughout. We enjoyed the free sunset cruise, several mini discos and live music in different venues, and had our children been older there were a huge range of activities they would have enjoyed. The service throughout Sani is also impeccable, with really helpful WhatsApp concierge service and lots of lovely touches such as the free welcome toys for the children, and gifts for them again when we left, as well as daily chocolate gifts for all the family and snacks and drinks to enjoy in the room. We very much hope to return another time, and when we do we will book direct to have more control over some of the aspects of booking, as well as to be able to take advantage of the free airport transfers that are offered when you book direct.

The whole resort is just amazing! The ambiance, the people, the service is just really out of the charts and I am not an easy man to please. Our stay at Porto Sani was exceptional from beginning to end. Every detail reflected the high standards the resort is known for. The facilities are beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome. What truly made this stay unforgettable, however, was the outstanding service. A very special thank you goes to Milena Manvelian, whose professionalism, kindness, and dedication went far beyond our expectations. She was always available, incredibly attentive, and handled every request with genuine care and efficiency. It’s rare to meet someone who consistently makes guests feel so valued and looked after. Hospitality is about making people feel at home, and Milena does exactly that. She is a true asset to Porto Sani and one of the main reasons our experience was so memorable. Thank you to the entire Porto Sani team for an amazing holiday. We leave with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to returning.

“Elite prices, average experience”

I’ve no idea where the 5* reviews come from on here as this is certainly not our experience this week. What’s good: Room size (suites are excellent) and layout - this is one of the best we’ve experienced in our many global travels. Food quality at higher end restaurants - the best restaurants book up in advance for a reason, the food quality at the top end restaurants is great. Sun lounger availability - this is one of the main reasons we have returned (previously stayed at Asterias) as we find the availability is brilliant and they’re very comfortable. Pool sizes - plenty of space to spread out and explore Grounds and visuals - the grounds are stunning and a lot goes into maintaining them, it really does feel like paradise. Beaches - the beaches on the Sani Dunes and Sani Club side are gorgeous and comparable to what we experienced in the Maldives in terms of water clarity. What’s not good: Service - this appears to all depend on whether the staff know you or not. If you’re a returning guest or a favourite, you’ll be treated well. We did not feel this at all. Drinks were forgotten, late, bad quality. Allergy management - Issues with my gluten intolerance were frankly the worst I’ve ever experienced in many years of travel. I was even told that some of the info on the allergy list at Elia was wrong. This resulted in a whole night of vomiting for me. It was a minefield all week. There is almost nothing available to order on menu, everything is a conversation. Only breakfast was manageable independently. Bikes - these are a disaster, don’t even bother. Not only are they not readily available, they’re also poorly maintained and were an entire waste of money and time for us. Incredibly disappointing. Buggy service - this is a bit of a mess, they’re in high demand and it’s not a well oiled service like we’ve experienced elsewhere. Food quality outside of high end restaurants - the lunch buffet quality is noticeably different to the same ingredients elsewhere. Same for breakfast. If you want good food, you need to expect to go to the nicer restaurants and pay extremely high prices. Cost - this brings me to cost, the prices are significantly higher than they should be for everything and in general too high. Absolutely everything is chargeable and a cocktail will cost you more here than it does at the Connaught. The cocktails are poor and there is limited choice. What’s available at Dunes, for instance, can’t be ordered at Porto and you’re limited to a small list. Overall, I don’t think this deserves a 5* rating and our experience with service and the absolute chaos of allergy management brings our experience down to 3*. There are things Sani does well, but we found service and attention to detail was much better elsewhere. Quite disappointing for us as we had high expectations.
