It is no doubt confusing reading the varied reviews on this hotel so I hope to bring some clarity . The hotel is a 20 - 25 mins walk to the central area , and 30-35 mins walk to the local supermarket so for those not wishing or able to walk too far this is not a suitable hotel . Pay attention to the room you book as to whether it is inside the hotel or in an apartment which is outside the hotel and not connected . Having booked a one bedroom deluxe suite we had no idea that it would be outside the hotel, This was not at all convenient as we had several heavy cases given we are vacationing several countries over the next two months . There was no assistance , no cart or shuttle to help take the luggage over rugged terrain and down several flights of wooden slippery steps in the rain! While the apartment itself had a wonderful view it was most inconvenient and not at all what we had hoped for . The bedroom allowed for only one double bed and nothing else so all our luggage sat in the living room . For those planning hiking trips or those preferring to self cater these apartments are appropriate. Restaurant food is good as is service in the restaurant area and rooms are clean . Most complaints we heard were related to front desk staff. We encountered it ourselves with one gentleman being rather abrupt and unfriendly - we would definitely encourage further customer service training. There are several other hotels more conveniently located and more tourist friendly - Best Western and Hotel Icefiord to name two.

“Nice Views, awful staff”

Initial impressions were great, lovely views and nice staff working the morning shift. Bit far from town but was an easy 20 min walk or 5 min bus. That’s where the good bits ended. Returned in the afternoon to check in after dropping our bags earlier. Staff were rude and un interested, literally ignored us, chatted amongst themselves and one even giving us a snide look then walked off. Eventually they decided to acknowledge us and check us in. Room was ok, but no fridge/ mini bar, no room service, check out was early, not sure if there was a safe …. Limited bar and restaurant hours, if your hungry at 3pm- tough! Bar ran out of most beers and ice 😳😳😳. Nowhere else had this problem…. No ice in Greenland 🤣🤣🤣. Small selection of snacks and drinks at reception and I do mean small, very over priced. If you have a food intolerance or allergy, stay elsewhere. Breakfast however was good. Overall we found staff rude (ex the two morning reception staff who were lovely and cheerful) very unhelpful, hotel is very overpriced with such limited facilities. One bonus was the free airport shuttle.

This hotel is a real mixed bag. It has a great position overlooking the harbour which also means a long walk into the town. The room was clean but pretty basic. We had booked 2 superior rooms with twin beds only to find on arrival twin beds were only available in standard rooms with no mini bar or fridge. These rooms did not have the view of Disko Bay we wanted. The reception staff on duty on the morning during our stay were really helpful and kind. However, the staff on duty later in the day were extremely rude, arrogant and unhelpful. It actually felt like they had no inclination in helping guests. On one occasion we stood at the reception desk and we were completely ignored. The bar had run out of most beers and had no restock during our stay. Nowhere else in the town seemed to have this problem. There is nowhere to get food outside of meal times except for some sandwiches and snacks from the reception and zero Gluten free options.
