I visited with my sister in the summer and really enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear warm lake, the indoor & outdoor pool connected to the spa facing the lake. There’s also a beach with lounge chairs cabanas paddle boards & boat rides. The wine selection & culinary options were exquisite! The service is 5 star from Louis at the front desk to the bar lounge servers & restaurant staff! There’s a very cute museum & high tech gym with the newest machines. The rooms overlook the lake & are very quiet for a perfect night sleep. I highly recommend this location for romantic getaways family reunions & the adventure junkies that love to mountain bike hike & water-sports!

The property is amazing: beauty of the location, nature, the details of craftmanship and the quality of the products used and the collection of the paintings. We were glad with the decision of staying on premises in this property for two nights. We've tried all the dining venues on the property - the best was the Schloss restaurant. We did the facial and massage service in the spa - both were excellent! However, we couldn't give a solid 5 star because the housekeeping issue. The reason we made decision to not explore outside the hotel because we wanted to relax and enjoy the property. After walking around the vast ground; we came to our room which had not been cleaned. It was 4pm already. The management rectified immediately, but we had to linger outside the room for a while. Then, it was time for turn down service at 6pm - another "disruption". By the time we came back from dinner and walk around, it was late, we noticed there were no tea bags, no coffee capsules, toiletteries such as mouth wash was not refilled. Used tea cups were still on the bar table. We could call the front desk to bring these items up, but we were too tired to wait. Also, we had chosen the Deluxe Lakeside Suite to enjoy a spacious room and view because we had decided to stay in the property throughout our stay. There were also two housekeeping carts tucked in the corner of the way to our room our entire time there. We see that sight every time going in and out the room, felt like we were placed near the housekeeping/maintenance area. One minor room for improvement was also no one was there to greet us in the front door. when we went inside, the convierge helped and were able to check in. Reception, Concierge, Spa staff were all excellent. Training on housekeeping consistency would go a long way.

We selected Schloss Fuschl after reading an article in the Wall Street Journal. It was our last stay on a 2-week vacation visiting several great European Spa resorts. Apparently other American travelers read the same article. We trained to Salzburg from Bressanone/Brixen, Italy andtook a taxi from Salzburg HBF to the hotel. It was quite a ride and a little over 60 Euros. The Schloss is on a beautiful property situated on the south end of the lake. It is an historic castle, reinvented as a five-star hotel with multiple modern additions that blend nicely to make an elegant property. The reception area is gorgeous and the staff professional and impressive. Our room was exceptional with a partial view of the lake. It was not large but was well-appointed and meticulously maintained. Housekeeping is professional and the facilities are spotless. We found every aspect of service to be exceptional. One of us (wife) decided to hike the trail along the lake and ultimately completed the entire 6-mile circuit. The other (Me) decided to wait at the lakeside bar and restaurant. A great place for a book and an Aperol Spritz. Again, a relaxing and inviting respite. Great, unobtrusive service. A brief swim in the lake was cold and refreshing and is recommended. There are several dining options and we enjoyed an evening on the outdoor veranda and an evening inside in the main dining room. Again, service was exceptional. There appeared to be a bar behind every door. There are lots of areas for quiet conversation. We did not try the fish house on the lakefront a short walk away. That will be on the list for the next visit. We will say that we encountered more small western family groups than we expected at this property.
