Great little Center Parcs for a short stay. Comfortable lodge, although space limited in second bedroom/ kitchen. Outdoor terrace and sauna excellent. Lovely additional forest area for runs/ cycles. Can walk to adjacent Center Parcs (peel), but didn’t find the need. Water park is smaller than the UK but fun enough (especially the wild river). Self catered from near by supermarkets. Basic range available on site. Loved the inflatable aqua park and hiring go carts. Would recommend for a peaceful stay in the forest.

I’m a big fan of centre parcs in Europe and this didn’t disappoint. Great location, the aqua mundo was fab (although not as good as others I’ve been too) and all the staff were incredible. The kids love the freedom of cycling around and popping to see the goats. We did the aqua park and zip line activities which the kids absolutely loved. Another shout out specifically to the staff running the zip line - excellent at their job. If I am being critical, the bathrooms need an upgrade (was in a VIP cottage but I would say the bathroom doesn’t match that). The beds were not super comfortable (note to self pack own pillows next time) and the week we went was incredibly hot - the cottage was so hot we couldn’t sleep. Would be good if fans were out in cottages (again packing one next time)

I recently completed a Monday to Friday stay at the Het Meerdal Center Parcs in the Netherlands. I went with my mother, sister and 4yo nephew and we travelled by car from south east England. It was easy to get to the park, once you have navigated Antwerp, and it is located in a rural area with very narrow roads. There is clearly a lot of agriculture in the area as there are some large farms and lots of fields. We arrived at the park around 4pm and drove straight in with no queue. We completed the normal park and unload before returning the car to the main car park. Be aware there are only 3 blue badge bays near the entrance and these are not extra wide bays either. We had to park much further round as the park was quite busy and there is not a lot of hard standing parking. We had a 3 bed vip cottage with a split shower/toilet and a main bathroom with a spa bath and indoor sauna. My first task when checking in is always to check the beds and around the rooms for any signs of bedbugs. Fortunately there were none in sight, but the backs of the mattresses and on the floor around the back of the beds was filthy. I ended up having to get the hoover and floor wipes out before we could settle in. I know the staff are limited on time but this was thick dust in areas that had not been touched in a long time! There were also a lot of mosquito type bugs blazing around so we took action to remove those. The villas are all close to water so that may be why, but you couldn’t have the windows open. The boiler was also faulty, but customer services sent a friendly young man out to complete the repair and we didn’t have anymore issues with it during the stay. We had plenty of hot water but the water pressure in the showers is somewhat mediocre and the spa bath didn’t have main taps, only the shower head so took an age to fill. The rainfall shower heads were both badly blocked with limescale and needed cleaning before we could use them. The beds were ok but not particularly comfortable as they were quite hard. The lounge and dining areas were comfortable but having a toilet right by the front door was a bit odd and made for a long walk in the night if you needed the loo. We hired a golf buggy to get around the park and this was a lot of fun. We didn’t use the restaurants but the supermarket was well stocked and not terribly expensive. I didn’t use the pool area but my family enjoyed it. My nephew also had a pony ride and a ride in the electric off road carts, which he enjoyed. My sister and I hired the kick electric scooters and went round the whole park - that is also well worth doing. When it came to check out we just drove out and put our wrist bands in a bucket held by the staff at the exit. It was all a well oiled machine and I would stay again. Toverland is only a short drive away and is also a great family day out. I have deducted 1 star for the poor cleanliness in the villa, but otherwise it was an enjoyable stay.

overall Impression - a great place for families with active kids, especially if you combine the stay with Toverland amusement park, where 3 days are more than enough. The environment is peaceful, safe, and the breakfast is good — but the management really needs to step up on cleanliness, staffing, and guest experience. Pros Safe and peaceful atmosphere, ideal for families. Good breakfast with enough variety. Kids stay active and occupied thanks to the park and nearby attractions. Cons: Cleanliness needs improvement: Cabins are not dirty, but definitely not clean. You don’t want to drop anything under the sofa. Windows are very dirty. Hygiene issue at the bar: The bartender near the bowling area uses her bare hand to put ice into glasses — unacceptable. Attractions are extremely expensive: 5 attractions for 2 kids cost 200 EUR, which is not guest‑friendly pricing. Very limited staff in July: Attractions operate only a few hours per day. Small groups, no spontaneity. If you didn’t book well in advance, you simply miss out. Early checkout at 10:00: at 9:40 the cleaning lady entered the cabin with her own key without knocking. That’s a serious breach of privacy.
