We checked in on Friday, July 31, 2026 for a total of 5 nights. We used points for this stay. To put it politely, I am not so sure this hotel is prepared for such a large event where nearly every room in the city is sold out. However, I will note that I am giving this property 4 stars because of the care that they put forward in trying there best to deal with the issues that I had. When we arrived at 3:30PM, the room was not ready. We were asked to wait in the restaurant, so we walked over to the restaurant with our luggage. We were told it would be about 15 minutes. He made it very clear that he would walk over to the restaurant as soon as the room was ready. Unfortunately, after one hour I walked back over to the front desk and we were told that he forgot that we were waiting. We first got to our room, and we lowered the temperature the whole way, because it was very hot in the room. Now, I know that Europe air conditioning standards are different than those of where I am from; however, in this particular room there was ZERO air conditioning. None. The fan was on; however, it was blowing room temperature air, even after being on for hours at the lowest temperature with the curtains closed. I called and reported this four times throughout the first evening. I stopped down at the front desk multiple times, because it is to also be noted that the phone in that room doesn't work. Finally, the last time I went down they agreed to move me the next day; however, could not for the first night. They provided a fan for our room, in order to help get some air circulating. They did move us the next day for the final four nights; however, there was a lot of miscommunication. Miscommunication including the people during the night shift telling me to stop down at 11am, which I did; however, when I arrived --- they told me the room would not be ready until later in the day. I pushed a little harder and they did find me a room; however, it was definitely a downgrade in views -- from a nice water view to an interior courtyard view. However, the air conditioning worked! Again, I note that I am still giving the property 4 stars because of the fact that I feel that they did appropriately take care of me, for the issues that occurred. On to the positive aspects, the location near Centraal station is wonderful. We ate breakfast each morning and that was fantastic as well. Housekeeping was wonderful, which we took advantage of everyday except for one day. I'll also give a shout out to Milan, Entony and Kimberly who ended up taking care of me during my stay. I appreciate all that they did to try to fix the issues that were occurring. Would I try this hotel again? I think I would so long as it was not another major event in the city. I love Amsterdam, and can't wait to return again in the future.
