“Good budget option”

This is a great budget option for short stays in the city. Easy to get to from the Centraal Station by tram, and plenty of great food options nearby. This is a great budget option for short stays in the city. Easy to get to from the Centraal Station by tram, and plenty of great food options nearby. It’s set on the edge of the Oosterpark, with plenty of space to have some quiet time. Only downside was that the secure doors were constantly banging shut as people came in and out of the sleeping pod spaces - I get security needs to ensure doors close firmly, but a quieter close would be great as it meant that every time someone came in the door, the noise woke you up.

“Could be better”

Its located like 20-30 min from center. I was surprised this hostel even extra charge to reserve lower bed and luggage storage. Unfortunately there was no kitchen or even a microwave or kettle. If you need to wash clothes several times, better buy your own détergent instead of paying 2 euro for one… more

Its located like 20-30 min from center. I was surprised this hostel even extra charge to reserve lower bed and luggage storage. Unfortunately there was no kitchen or even a microwave or kettle. If you need to wash clothes several times, better buy your own détergent instead of paying 2 euro for one capsule. Overall it feels like more expensive hostel and they try to charge for every little thing there. It doesn’t feel like social hostel.

I’m not sure where to begin. While the rooms were clean and neat, the beds comfortable, that’s was all. If you’re solo and travelling for some time, this hostel does not cater for this. There’s no kitchen to prepare or store your own food - an expensive cafe and bar instead. Everything outside of the bed came with a price, including to store your luggage (12€ for a day!!), staff weren’t very helpful and a little rude! Yes I selected a 4 bed mixed dorm, I did put in my notes - if possible to be female dorm. Mostly because we are in Amsterdam!! And sure enough I was put with 3 other men who were out getting high every evening. Okay sure, not saying don’t put one guy because it is a ‘mixed’ dorm - come on though, who does the room allocations and says yeah one female with three men is fine? Especially when drugs are being consumed by the men. With not even a privacy curtain?! No where to meet people and socialise, no group to find out the events or hear what’s happening. The rubber seal on the shower was also broken so water would also flood the bathroom floor (this one is minor compared to the rest) Just a budget hotel with dorms - although hotels let you store your bags for free!
