The perfect hotel for a stay in Amsterdam. The hotel is on the train route between the airport and Central station. You can also take the tram to get downtown. The hotel was clean, comfortable,safe, clise to Lidl grocery store. A few restaurants nearby. The room comes with a free breakfast buffy, but, its more than a buffet: eggs, hard boiled or scrambled, breads, croissants, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, milk, cold cuts.

Great hotel for exploring Amsterdam, it’s right next to the train and metro station for easy access into the centre, we brought a GVB travel pass which is an app on your phone worked really well. The staff at the hotel are lovely and very helpful, they allowed us to check in early and store our bags until our room was ready so we could go off and explore, they also let us leave our bags in the store until our flight in the evening. Breakfast was good and plentiful lots of choice, mainly continental but something for everyone. The beds were good, the bathroom and room were nice and clear, all in all I would recommend and also stay here again.

“A good choice if you're going to be travelling around”

I don't normally stay at chain hotels, but I was visiting the Netherlands for 5 days and rather than carrying my bags from place to place I decided to stay at Holiday Inn Sloterdijk and use the train to visit different places. This worked extremely well, literally 2 minutes out of the hotel room to the station. I could get the train to Den Haag, Utrecht, Haarlem and Arnhem easily from Sloterdijk and the Number 19 tram that starts from outside the basement exit of the hotel goes directly to the Rijksmuseum stop in about 25 minutes (and it's a nice ride on the tram). The staff were friendly and the room (and hotel generally) was very clean. I didn't have any concerns about security or leaving things in the room. You need a keycard to operate the lift further up than reception. There was a nice breakfast, though there are unsurprisingly a lot of people around. There is a nice pizza restaurant next door and even a Spar convenience store if you want snacks. The only slight problem was a bit of noice from outside (some early morning truck deliveries) but the train station is of course a busy place and I wasn't disturbed by train noise at all. Overall it worked really well for me, but do bear in mind it is not in the centre of town so you're not going to be able to walk to the museums and things, though it is only a 5 minute train ride to Centraal. Just one note of caution - someone did attempt to scam me using my booking details from Booking.com. It was in a chain email that included the legitimate earlier emails I had had confirming the booking asking me to re-submit my card details. Fortunately I emailed the hotel direct to confirm it was a scam but it was a very, very convincing attempt.

A good hotel, just as you'd expect from other big name budget type hotels in the UK. Staff were polite and helpful. The location is excellent, right next to the train station and only 5 minutes journey into Amsterdam Central station( Euro6.20 for return ticket). The bed was a little hard for our liking but that's personal taste. Breakfast was included and was a good buffet range, continental with egg and tomato hot option. Be aware that it gets very busy and the layout of the buffet creates a lot of bottlenecks/people all wanting the same corner!! They also don't provide milk in the rooms so consider taking some up from breakfast. Parking- they charge 25Euro per night in a secure underground garage, which is accessible from the hotel via the main hotel lift. It is disappointing/frustrating that they charge so much considering the cost of the hotel per night! The parking is also very hard to find. Use the address/postcode for the pizza grill place under the hotel to help you find it as it's not obvious at all! Overall, it's a reasonably priced, comfy hotel with parking on the edge of Amsterdam.
