“A beautiful place for relaxing space”

One of the most beautiful settings we've encountered 🙏💚 I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a reasonably priced location for a short get away. The gardens are very enchanted with numerous wildlife and silent spaces for thought.

Although the property itself is nice, I fail to see the attraction of this "getaway." Although the service is quite friendly, the room is bare bones. There is no AC, no complimentary coffee facilities, no closet space, no hook for your bathroom bag, not even a box of tissues. There is a bed and a bathroom with a shower and a toilet (the wash table is in the bedroom). One sad little piece of "art" on the wall. The little windows in the room were obnoxious and industrial looking. Only one opened and no insect screen. Maastricht and Valkenburg are both a 15-20 minutes drive away. The restaurant serves delicious food and is quite romantic, but for the price of this stay I would not come back for anything other then a dinner (or lunch). There is no pool, although the grounds are quite nice. Parking is abundant and free. We stayed for the Andre Rieu concert, and the hotel graciously provided a shuttle (extra cost) but I really don't know why someone would spend time here. For a romantic getaway at these prices (about 300/night) I would at least expect a balcony, or a hot tub in the room. Or a pool at the facility. Something to warrant this as a romantic getaway. To each his own I suppose.

When we arrived at the hotel, we immediately noticed a large cage with two birds in the lobby. Although they seemed well cared for, the environment didn’t seem ideal due to the constant movement in the lobby, the access to the bar, and the cage’s inadequate height, especially considering that the hotel allows guests to bring dogs. But that’s just a minor detail. When we went to our room, the elevator wasn’t working, so we had to carry our heavy luggage up four flights of stairs. The room was small and clean, suitable for a budget stay. However, the real issue was the heating system. On a cold day, with a minimum temperature of 1 degree, the heating didn’t work. The air conditioner showed 25 degrees but only blew cold air and made a lot of noise, so we had to turn it off. The wall heater also didn’t work, either during the day or at night, and the only blanket provided wasn’t enough to keep us warm. Since half of the room’s side wall was made of windows, which let in the cold, the bed, placed near that area, became extremely uncomfortable, forcing us to sleep on only one side of the bed. Hence, our rating is 3. Positive points: the hotel is large and beautiful, just like in the photos. The room was quiet (when the air conditioner was off), and the café and bar were excellent, with delicious food, great drinks, and a wonderful apple cake.

I can confirm the positive reviews of the other guests. It is a beautiful building in a green environment with gratis parking, good breakfast and nice rooms. Unfortunately during our 3rd stay for 2 nights there we have made some negative experiences. Our room has not been cleaned and the towels were not changed. On our complaint we were told that you have to inform them during check in if you want that service or not. In case you do not give such instructions, room and towels remain dirty. The mattresses were much too soft and no fridge in the room. The reception has been renewed with 2 impersonal and ugly desks which does not fit with the other cosy rooms in the building. The staff is friendly and try to help you as much as possible.
