“Good Location at a Good Price.”

This hotel is a gem in the middle of Amsterdam. Very reasonably priced and a 24/7 friendly staff. The rooms are simple, very clean, and accessible with an elevator. The one downside is that the breakfast room is in the basement down some quite step stairs.

“Well located hotel, that could be managed better”

The hotel is very well located, with the central old town and many sights within short walking distance. Ok standard, but it could be managed better: during our four-night stay, the badly working shower was not fixed, the room was cleaned once, and the bed linen never replaced.

Pleasant hotel in the museum district, about a 5-minute walk to Rijksmuseum and a 10-minute walk to the Van Gogh museum. We arrived in April, during the the week of Easter, and we paid about $250 USD per night, which was standard for this area and this time of year. If you read other reviews for this hotel, you'll notice people complaining about how small the bathroom is and how tight the room is (and yes, the bathroom is very small; I'm of average height and just to use the toilet I had to slightly raise my legs and rest my knees against the shower door) but this is true for all the hotels rooms in Amsterdam unless you're willing to pay a few hundred dollars more per night for a larger, more spacious hotel. This hotel doesn't offer a complimentary breakfast, although you can pay a small extra fee for breakfast -- but I suggest skipping that because there are so many restaurants within walking distance, and the Leidseplein is only a 5-minute tram ride away. Or you can walk east to Van Baerlestraat where there's a nice patisserie called Simon Meijssen Broodbakker and a Albert Heijn, which is Amsterdam's ubiquitous convenience/grocery store. Every morning I would walk down to Simon Meijssen Broodbakker to get some pastries and coffee for breakfast, then to Albert Heijn to get some water and fruit for our daily travel. The room and bathroom are very clean. The staff is very nice and the hotel is centrally located, and away from all the noise and crowds of central Amsterdam or the Leidseplein, and everything is within walking distance or a short tram ride away. If you're going in April, like we did, or around any major holiday, make sure to get your tickets to the Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, and Rijksmuseum at least 2 to 3 months in advance -- especially the Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum, since those sell out very quickly. And if you want to see tulips, consider taking a bus to Haarlem instead of the Keukenhof Garden.
