All in all a decent place, with its pros and cons. Pros: - located close enough to attractions and highlights of the city and really close to tram/bus stops (like, 5mins walk) - relatively quiet street (almost no traffic) - really nice and helpful staff (especially the concierge), always trying to accomodate your wishes and giving great advice on how to get around, where to dine... - reception open 24/7 - homey, substantial enough breakfast Cons depend mostly on personal preferences, but I´d strongly recommend bringing earplugs. The building is older and has wooden ceilings (though the interior seems recently renovated) so one can literally hear everything from the room above. On the street, oftentimes conversations can be overheard, short but loud enough to wake you in the middle of the night. If you generally enjoy staying in hostels, this place will probably appeal to you. The place gives off kind of hostel vibe, but with private rooms and daily room service. If you on the other hand expect luxury, designer bathrooms and haute cuisine, this hotel won´t suit you.

This hotel is located in the Jordaan neighborhood, close to restaurants and shops. From here, it is a short walk to the Liedersplein, where you can take the tram to Central Station. It is also a 10-minute walk to the museums. However, the rooms are pretty basic. Our room was a good size by European standards. The bed was comfortable but there was only cubbies for our clothes and a few hooks and hangers. Two scraped-up boxes served as night stands. Housekeeping staff were nice but not diligent. They are supposed to come every day but missed our room the first few days we were there. They replaced towels, toilet paper, and tissues sporadically. However, the front deck staff were wonderful. They were helpful and friendly, told us evening we needed to know, gave directions, made reservations, and recommended great restaurants. Be aware if you come during summer the hotel has no AC and the windows do not open wide. We were comfortable when the outside temperature was in the 50s F, but when the weather was sunny, the room was too warm.

The hotel was in a great location, desk staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean. My sister and I however, each had a set of noise cancelling headphones go missing during our stay there. We reported it to the desk and management did conduct an investigation but with no results. The safe in the room wasn’t large enough to hold those so beware of valuables if you choose to stay there. That experience put a damper on what was a great siblings trip and we are now faced with replacing two very expensive items.
