My wife and I stayed at NH Amsterdam Noord to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and it exceeded our expectations. The first thing that stood out was the warm welcome. The staff acknowledged our anniversary on arrival, which was a thoughtful touch and immediately made us feel welcome. I'll admit I was a little concerned before arriving because the price was so competitive. I wondered whether there would be some compromise in quality, but I couldn't have been more wrong. While this isn't a brand-new hotel, it is exceptionally well maintained. Everything was spotless, tidy and well cared for. Seeing airline crew staying at the hotel, along with several corporate groups and work events, gave us even more confidence that we had chosen well. Our room was spacious, quiet, very clean and extremely comfortable. The air conditioning performed brilliantly, even on a 33°C day, and the bathroom felt more like something you'd expect in a five-star hotel than a four-star one. The location is outside Amsterdam's city centre, but for us that was actually one of its biggest strengths. The complimentary shuttle bus connecting with the free ferry made getting into the city quick and easy. Being away from the tourist crowds also meant there were excellent local shops with much better prices, plus a great selection of restaurants, cafés and bars all within easy walking distance. It felt like experiencing a more authentic part of Amsterdam while still having convenient access to all the major attractions. The facilities were excellent. The Market service downstairs was very handy, the ladies did a great job plus some of the best coffee on our entire holiday! The bar had a nice atmosphere, and we really enjoyed the meals. During our stay, the live football broadcasts created a fantastic atmosphere in the evenings. The staff deserve special mention. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional and genuinely helpful. When my wife accidentally cut her finger, on a beautiful cheese I might add…they immediately assisted with first aid without hesitation. They were also happy to coordinate the collection and return of our laundry through a third-party service, making everything effortless. If I had to mention one minor criticism, it would be that the lifts can be a little slow. However, this was a very small inconvenience and didn't detract from our stay in any meaningful way. Overall, this was one of the most comfortable stays we've had in a four-star hotel. NH Amsterdam Noord consistently did all the important things well—comfortable rooms, excellent service, good food, great transport links and outstanding value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. If you're considering booking here, you can do so with confidence.

My mother and I stayed here for a few days in July. When we arrived, the lady on the desk was lovely and very friendly. She checked us in quickly and efficiently. All the staff here are friendly and happy to help. Our room was spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. The only issue we had is that the shower screen didn't have a great seal so it end up getting water on the floor. Other than that, the room was great. We had it cleaned every other day and the days we did not get it cleaned, we were given a drink token for a free drink in the bar which is a brilliant idea. The bar is quite small but it was never busy and again the staff were lovely. We ate there one evening and the food was very good and was huge portions. Breakfast was the same every morning and was mostly continental but it did the job. The free shuttle bus was amazing and made it so easy to get to the centre of Amsterdam. The drivers were great too. This is a fantastic hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

This is a great hotel, very pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff . The facilities are good ,nice functional rooms clean and comfortable . Tea and coffee making facilities ,refrigerator, and British tv BBC1 BBC2 ITV 1,2,3. Your rooms are cleaned on a daily basis if wanted but we opted for the Eco friendly option and received vouchers for 2 free drink at the bar during our 4 night stay. There is a shop within the hotel which is self service pay by card for chocolate ,crisps water and soft drinks etc. The reception can direct you to where you want to visit and book some trips for you if required . The area around the hotel is ok and there are several supermarkets ,cafes and restaurants nearby. Breakfast is served mon - Fri 7.00-10.00 am sat 7.00-11.00 am s Sun 7.00-12.00 . There is a good choice of fruit juices ,water , fresh fruit and breakfast cheeses and meats . good selection of breads ,pastries and sweet cakes . a wide selection of jams, spreads and yoghurts ,fromage frais . The breakfast staff are also really friendly and helpful . However the only negative I have to say about this hotel is about the breakfast . The only breakfast cereal I could find was Granola and there were no alternative milks (almond ,oat, soya etc.) On two of the mornings the pastries were overcooked too dark and just flew away in a flurry of flakes when you attempted to eat them. The hot food was not to my taste all except for the scrambled egg . the sausages didn't taste good . the kidney beans in tomato sauce were not something i recognised . This may just be my own personal British taste but breakfast wasn't great for me. The hotel provides a minibus shuttle down to the free ferry across to Amsterdam central station which is more or less the main city. The minibus journey takes about 7-10minutes ,but it is only perhaps a 20 minutes walk anyway and you can call the hotel to be picked up on your return . There are restaurants and bars down near the ferry terminal (the ferries seem to run every 7 -10 minutes ) .there are also some tourist attractions down by the riverside (the lookout 360 degree views of Amsterdam ,"This is holland" visitor centre and a centre of film making ? )
